I can see Moody being the odd man out unfortunately. Maybe he'll get scooped up by a team thats short a goalie, like Bathurst?

So is it really Pagliarulo << Moody << Jones? Even though they didn't spend much on acquiring them it just looks bad asset management, not to mention player management.

I'm excited to see what Jones can do for us, but I can't help but wonder if maybe they should have pooled all the assets from those 3 trades and gotten a decent 19 year old. He could be back next season and it would allow us to keep all 3 of the 20 year old forwards if the other 2 are ever able to get here. Would likely cost more than the sum of those 3 trades depending on how good the guy is but probably not by a huge margin. Patenaude seems to be improving with each start so we wouldn't necessarily need a #1 guy.

I see it as Pag's didn't impress in camp so they moved to upgrade with Jones.
Moody is an NB goalie who will be close by in the MHL if they need to call him up if Jones misses time this year. So they moved to get his rights for a late round pick.

Moody is playing this year in Atlantic Canada so he's still here. Instead of being in Jr A camp, he's facing higher level shooters (and I believe that he gets his oa per diem). Pags is likely going to play in Quebec, therefore it wouldn't make sense to stick around. Jones is a fairly significant upgrade imo. There was an honest possibility that he would have been Rimouski's starter in the playoffs over Ellis.

The good 19s play for contenders or for teams who won't trade them.

Patenaude should benefit from a solid 20 year old goalie, and Jones fits the bill if we want to make some noise this season. Moody is close by in case we need him. Gotta accept the fact that Gould ain’t coming.

Again, it should be noted that what we paid for Pags was moving down a couple spots in the 6th (95 to 103) and drafting Gartley, who we were almost certainly going to take at 95. The 12th is a 12th next year, which wouldn't shock me if it was conditional. That being said, we paid a 12th for Roy who didn't show.

Wouldn't have gotten much for a 19 year old simply by adding these picks to the cost for Jones. I'm anxious to see Jones in action.

We basically handled this 20 year old goalie situation and the import players situation as a relatively cheap game of musical chairs

And Gould wasn't coming back anyway no matter what happened with the tenders.
