What I noticed the most tonight was the intensive play, gritty, muscled, both in forecheck and backcheck....Francoeur's message is passing through nicely.... This is only preseason but the dangerous shots count went down to 11 tonight with a defense comprised of 4 rookies against a team which had gone unbeaten so far in preseason. The PK was good, Legault was excellent on rebound control and the puck moved well out of the zone except for a few minutes in the 2nd period. The new coaching style should fit perfectly with the compsition of the roster..... Right now I simply don't see how Faille will not be given a chance in an offensive role...he has got 3 goals and 4 assists for 7 points in 4 games so far...pretty impressive. Unbeaten? Sea Dogs lost in Ot in Moncton...hmmm!

A few notes on the TIatns last night...
1- Smearer, would like to see him use his body when he checks an opponent not just his arms. He also stands still too much...keep those feet moving.
2- Reneaud, to me he had a bad game, passes offline and a few give aways.
3- Chamberland looked steady out there, best game from him IMO.
4- Faille has looked good al pre-season
5- Svoboda's second goal was highlight material. My only fault is he seems to float slowly back when going for a linechange.
6- Legault made some very nice saves. Especially after the score was tied. Didn't panick and had good rebound control.
7- Maillieux looks SLOW. Liked the fact he was standing in front of the net during the PP but hopefully he can get another gear (IMO he's a 3rd liner not a guy to play with Perreault-Svoboda).
8- Clendenning-Grenache-Joly line waslike watching a pinball machine at times. They hit everything (edit: almost as Joly had his sights wrong on a few occasions).
9- Desnoyers had a few decent hits out there (beauty check at center ice on the SJ player with head down looking at puck) and made some decent passes.
The team played a decent game with some emotion. Gooid to see this close to the season opener.

on another note, Mailloux did invite all of 6-6 tall Pisano to dance. Turns he, he declined. Instead he got an agressor code on taking on Desnoyers? Result : automatic 1 game suspension.

Just got back from the game today. Titan won 2-1 but it wasn't an easy game by any means. Very close game with the Sea Dogs getting more dangerous opportunities but Tardiff stood on his head. Tardiff was by far the #1 star with his performance.
Titan scored the first goal on a PP, in the first minute of the game, with a shot from the point that Fullerton didn't see at all. 2nd Titan goal was a defensive breakdown from the Dogs that resulted in a 2-0 breakaway that Titan capitalized on. Again, in the first minute of the 2nd period. Sea Dogs goal came from a nice rush by Leduc.
Spirited affair with 3 fights in the first.
Svboda vs McNeil, I would say a draw. McNeil started strong and Svboda came on in the end. This came after Svboda boarded Thomas.
Smearer vs Sparling. Not sure how this came about but it was right after the faceoff and they started chucking the knuckles pretty good. They went blow for blow but Smearer caught Sparling with a shot that busted his nose open. Smearer gets the win. Funny to see Sparling rub the blood all over his face going off the ice. Again, hopefully another poster will comment on what lead up to this bout, because both coaches almost came to blows on the bench.
Landry vs Thomas - Pretty short fight, Landry started it and Thomas got in a few nice shots. Landy went down to a knee but not sure if it was from a punch or if he just fell. Linesman were quick to jump in. Thomas with the win.
Can't think of much else now but it was a very good game for pre season. According to the Q site, it shows the Titan lead in DS with 7-5, but I thought the Dogs had a few more dangerous shots with Tardiff saving the day on. Too bad we ran into penalties in the 3rd, we were making a good run.
