1. Gatineau 2. Gatineau 3. Saint John 4. Gatineau 5. Quebec
Moved up one slot. Was hoping for top 2 to get the top D or top F.

So who should we take at # 3? Probably depends on a few factors. -Who is showing up next year? Reynolds...Orr.... If so, we have more depth up front and can add BPA, which may be a D man. If they don't show up we probably go with a forward is my guess. Verrault (my guess is he goes #2), Woodworth, Lastarza, Carruthers. I wouldn't shut down the idea of moving back and gaining some more assets for the 2022 go for it year. If a team has a player they love at #3 we may be able to get a good price to drop back a few slots and gain more asset capital.

He has been in the states for 2 years and all signs indicate he plays for Waterloo for 2 seasons before going NCAA. Obviously a lot can change, I just can't see anyone risking it with a pick that high - but then again we saw two top 10 picks spurn the Q for the USHL last year, so who knows.

Today’s TJ has a story about the draft lottery and talks to Trevor Georgie.
It mentions the upcoming trade period, the draft and the Euro draft.
Georgie said they will be busy on all fronts.
They are working on trades, and signings.
I guess this would be no different than any year. Just some years turn out better than others

With our picks, we're in a bit of a weird spot.
Right now, we have MacDonald, Gould, Badalamenti and Spadafore eligible to return as 20s. With 6d eligible to return (including Inniss), it is difficult to justify Spadafore, but he seems to have a good attitude and he shocked us last year with his development.
Up front, we have at least 2 oa, Cajkovic (or a replacement if he is not back), Burns, Lawrence, Stairs, Drover, Roy, Savoie, O'Neill, and Vandervoet before we consider whether we keep Lehmus or draft a Euro fw.
Both 1sts will likely be asked to start low on the depth chart with the chance of earning more.
If Mastrodomenico is willing to be 3rd pair with a shot at PP time and he's our top rated player left on the board, he would fit nicely.
For someone like Verreault, Savoie, Woodworth, or Carruthers, their likely spot is either 3rd or 4th line with the likelihood that they are 3rd line at 17. It would be very difficult to leap Burns, Roy, Lawrence, or Stairs and we are going to have good 20s in 2 years.
#15 is really interesting.
For me, there are three things we could look at: If Nause was willing to report, he would be an excellent pick there (and if we took a fw at 3, he could actually earn 2and pair time as early as this year. We could try to trade for a higher pick to get a better 2nd player. Imo, Val D'Or might shop one of their picks to have more ammo to buy. While two of the above would be a dream, getting one and another of the top d would be excellent. We could move 15 for a future 1st or player. Personally, I'm not a fan of this option unless you are planning to use the pick or getting one heck of a deal on the player. We could draft BPA. This is the likely scenario, and there are a number of names that could be intriguing here like Swan, Dumais, Loshing, or Rozzi. Lastly, we could roll the dice and draft LaStarza (who is tendered in the USHL) with the possibility of getting an elite talent, and the trade off that if he says no, we can get the 15th overall pick next year.

QMJHL News - Peter Reynolds has de-committed from Boston College and will join the Saint John Sea Dogs. Expect an official announcement as early as today.
Reynolds was ranked as high as 3rd in the 2019 Q draft but fell to SJ at 21 due to college plans.
