This looks like a banner year in the draft for Moncton area kids ... especially defensemen ...
Sam Savoie is going to be a high pick ...
The Flyers have four draft eligible defensemen - Mann, Gill, Strang and McCullum ... add Hinkley to that list, and a darkhorse from Mathieu-Martin High School Jonathan Cormier, who played team NB in the Atlantic Challenge Cup, but got squeezed out with the Flyers this season as the 5th 2004 d-man on their depth chart - thrived in high school hockey this winter.
Upfront, MacPhee and Sanchez should get drafted along with Savoie, chance that Petrie, Feruson and Daniel find takers as well.
Plus Evan Nause as a second time eligible near the top of the draft.
Next year could be strong as well ...
Edit: Forgot Jonah Jelley - he is another local kid that could get drafted - been playing at Notre Dame the past couple of seasons.

I could be a little bias, but if we look ahead to the 2021 Q Draft, it will be another very good draft for Moncton players.
Justin Gendron, Luke Patterson and Preston Lounsbury are forwards to keep an eye on. Dylan MacKinnon, Jack Martin and J-P Boudreau are ones to watch on defense.

Bumper crop - four in the first round ... Coen Strang is a surprise at #30 to R-N ... HP had him at #137, CSR had him in rounds 6-8.

Gill selected in the first round at 20, and 17-20 spots ahead of projection was a bit of a surprise. Hope Mann doesn’t become the next Philippe Myers...a big local defensenan that went elsewhere to develop.

I spoke to a few scouts that said he wasn't a 1st rounder on their list. The CSR list is clearly not the same as teams, many guys drafted in rounds 3 and 4 drafted and 5 1st round rated guys still there.
