Getting lots of shots but so far have only much to show for it in one game. Top 4 D all played today for the first time.

If we're going to trade for someone, I'd rather a 19 year old so he can be back next season and we can keep both Gould and Leonard this season once when Kotkov arrives.

Special teams have been a weakness in the preseason, especially the PK. Hopefully this doesn't carry into the regular season, not to mention the amount of penalties being taken.

Most of last year's top PK forwards are either gone or aren't here yet. If should help if/when Gould ever arrives but in the meantime it will be nice if some of the newer/older (forgive the oxymoron) like Leonard and Girouard could step up in this role.
I'm sure the PP will be fine eventually. It was one of the team's strengths last season and most of the key guys are back. Legein seems to do a good job as PP coach as well. Pre-season is often used for experimenting and trying guys in roles they may not necessarily be in very often during the regular season.

Our PP is above 30% and it could be argued that they have been unlucky. For our PK, we've scratched Inniss 2 of the 4 games. I've liked our PK at times, but for the most part it is mix and match. What is scary is that we are tied for 2nd in GF/G, but our offense is underachieving. With all the quality shots we are producing, the puck should actually be going in more. If I'm not reading too much into this, it appears that Gilbert sees the lines as: Girouard - Lawrence - Roy Stairs - MacDonald - Drover Burns - Reynolds - Kotkov If Drover keeps playing the way he has so far this preseason, that line is going to be very good. Every goalie had a rough first night for us, but since his first night (2GA on 7 shots in 30 mins), Patenaude is hovering around 2.00GAA and a .926 SV%. |

The CB announcer just said that Dawson Stairs is Matt Stairs' nephew. Pretty sure that's not true is it? I thought I saw an interview where he said he was often asked if they were related and he says he's not but gets asked that all the time.
Edit - He just corrected himself. No relation.
