The Seadogs host the Charlottetown Islanders in their home opener, coming off a disappointing 4-3 OT loss to the Titan in Bathurst. The Seadogs blew a 3-0 lead entering the 3rd period, perhaps a reflection of a team that is still young and short on leadership? 46 shots against is not gonna cut it if this team hopes to realize their potential. Just my 2 cents of course. Good on the Titan to not fold the tent.
The Islanders won last night, spoiling Moncton’s home opener. They scored 4 straight goals en route to a 4-2 victory, getting the eventual game winner with under 7 minutes to play.
Creed Jones is expected to make his Seadog debut in the crease today.
Let’s get a big win today!

Why are the Seadogs not ready for the season?

Why are the Seadogs not ready for the season? It sure seems like some of our Dmen are more interested in scoring goals than taking care of their own end. Much like last season. Hope this improves.

How? You expecting a team that drafts one of our D to send us a D coach as a new assistant? That's what it's going to take. Someone who has actually played the position and can teach the position, and isn't afraid to healthy scratch some players when they refuse to follow orders and play the position properly. Maybe coach Gilbert can call up old teammate Dave Manson and lure him in.

A defense coach is needed desperately but I'm hoping maybe once the draft is over they'll stop worrying so much about their offensive numbers, and if we're real lucky the team that drafts them will tell them they've already proven themselves offensively and to focus on defense. Might be wishful thinking (don't confuse "hope" for "expect") because they should realize that at this point focusing on defense would probably help their draft ranking.

Besides the D needing to concentrate on playing more defense it would help if some of the forwards would help out a little more. Of the 10 goals against Laurence was on the ice for 8 of them. Maybe he should not be on the first PK, maybe not on PK at all?

Lawrence is our number 1 faceoff person therefore he starts on the PK hoping to get the puck dumped to the other end and then get off.

Does anyone know if Innis was injured seriously late in the 3rd? I don't recall seeing him come back. He looked to be favoring his foot or leg.
