With the acquisitions made by Hulton there is no doubt we are a stronger team on paper then we were before christmas (whether that translates on the ice is yet to be seen) ..... my biggest question I suppose is who sits now?
I would presume Felix Tremblay will be waived as he barely played anyhow.... but that still leaves us with 7 Q dmen and 6 spots regularly.... we may go 11-7 by times but if we stick to 6 who sits?
up front unless the Euros come over there's no real issue getting everyone enough icetime i think but the backend is pretty jammed

As it sits right now I’d say Maynard and Tremblay take a seat on the back end, unless they go 11-7 and there’s a clear top 9 forwards IMO so unless the euros show up or they add someone else, while the lines may change there isn’t a lot of shuffling they can even do up front.
Casey- Budgell- Desruisseaux Oliver- Guay- Peach Gallant- Beauregard- LeBlanc McCarthy- Elliott- Boyd
Cormier- Laaouan Trudeau- Plandowski Stewart- Virtue Tremblay- Maynard
Ellis Goobie

I would assume Virtue would rotate in and out with Maynard, with Virtue getting more starts.
Although, I’m not sure you’re going to pay a 5th to have a guy sit in the press box.

Hulton has shown once before that if it's an "all in" year that he's placing value on depth on D.
When we went all in in 16-17, the blueline consisted of:
Guillaume Brisebois PO Joseph Carl Neill Nicolas Desroches Tyler MacArthur Saku Vesterinen JS Taillefer Hunter Drew
The first five guys played nightly. Hunter Drew was a work in progress and rarely saw the ice. Vesterinen was a Euro who was a bit buried, but probably got in the lineup more than he should have based on being a Euro pick.
JS Taillefer was a serviceable, dependabe 19 y/o blueliner who could have played regular minutes for just about every team that year... but he was a 6/7 guy in our loaded lineup.
Hulton likes having that type of depth on the back end in case of injury, suspension etc. If both of Tremblay and Maynard are satisfied in their roles, I imagine both will continue to be part of the plan moving forward.
Another thing Hulton likes is having a blueliner on standby who can offer some offensive ability if one of the regular guys goes down. I haven't seen Maynard play, but he brings a serious resume of being a point producer from the blueline in leagues before getting to the Q. A guy like that has value for working on a PP if you you lose one of your regular guys for the short term. He kind of fits the mold of other guys who came here and carved out a role... and had some offensive skill from the blueline... Taylor Egan, Colin Vanden Hurk, etc.

You might, when you want to be competitive you want to make sure you have veteran guys good to go every night. Assuming we return to play of course.
