Has 2 wins so far this year. Currently sits 5th all time in NHL Goalie wins. The 36 year old has averaged 32 wins a season for the past 10 years.
21 additional wins this year will put him in a tie for 3rd overall with Luongo.
What do you think his chances are overall of hitting 500 career wins?
1.Martin Brodeur 691 2.Patrick Roy 551 3.Roberto Luongo 489 4.Ed Belfour 484 5.Marc-And Fleury 468 6.HenrikLundqvist 459 7.Curtis Joseph 454 8.Terry Sawchuk 445 9.Jacques Plante 437 10.Tony Esposito 423

I personally think it’s 100% that he hits it before he retires, assuming he plays at minimum the rest of the deal. Now with the shortened season and not being the clear #1 guy, I’d say he needs to get dealt to have a shot at it before the end of his contract but if he were to play it out in Vegas, he’d probably within a handful of wins of grabbing it at the end of the deal and still be a goalie capable of playing games so I don’t see any problems for him to hit the 500 win mark.

Another win for Fleury last night - now has 469. The 1-0 win was his second shutout of the season and the 63rd of his career, moving him within one of Henrik Lundqvist for 16th on the career list.
He has allowed two or fewer goals in seven of his eight starts this season. His GAA improved to 1.01 and SA% to .951

But some of those years 2014-15 and part of 2015-16 he literally held his team in contention until they could get their act together. People forget in 2015-16 before they changed coaches bringing Sully in they were around 11th in east. They werent scoring. That year ended in a cup with Matt Murray as goalie but if not for Fleury they are out of it by trade deadline. Nothing about Fleury competitiveness suprises me anymore. Let others write him off.

Yeah, I've watched the last 2 games Fleury played against the Avs and he looks solid right now.

Fleury posted another shutout last night in a 4-0 win over SJ Sharks. He now leads the league in shutouts (4) GAA (1.60%) & SV% (.942) and tied for second in wins at 12.
He has now surpassed Henrik Lundqvist with his 65th shutout of his career and is 1 shy of Patrick Roy which would tie him for 15th on the all time list.
That was career win # 478. He is now 6 shy of Ed Belfour and 11 shy of Roberto Luonguo for a tie for 3rd overall in career NHL wins.

With last night's win - Fleury is not 4th in all time career wins.
Needs 4 more wins to tie Luongo for 3rd all time...

Fleury tied Roberto Luongo for 4th in all time career NHL wins with his 21st win of the season last night.
He will need an additional 62 wins to catch Roy for 2nd overall. The 36 year old will have to remain very healthy and keep up putting these solid numbers.

Interesting to note that the top 4 goalies with most NHL wins career are all Q products 1. Martin Brodeur 691 2. Patrick Roy 551 3. Marc-Andre Fleury 490 4. Roberto Luongo 489 All over 160 Q games if counting playoffs too. I strongly believe in junior you need to play every night to do this or the lions share of games. Workload helps them develop. Interestingly Luongo had 9 shutouts in junior. Brodeur and Fleury had 4 each. Roy had none. That certainly has alot to do with team in front of them. Another guy who I know was exceptional, played long in NHL and pro and is a Q product I thought at his peak was better than these guys was Felix Potvin. He played late 80s (defense challenged 80s) and so stats may fool you but he faced alot of shots. Something like 170 games in just 3 seasons and still chocked up a shutout 10 times (6 in his last season). 17 years in NHL. He took St. John's to Calder Cup final his only year in AHL.
