I see Ellis has signed a ELC with St.Louis. Any chance he is gone/ reassigned? or will virus keep him here, as there is not many pro leagues going?

Yes...one of his better decisions as GM if we're being fair. Many would have prioritized keeping the local and trading the other guy.

Yes...one of his better decisions as GM if we're being fair. Many would have prioritized keeping the local and trading the other guy. I think Ellis is a better goalie but Mandolese was a rockstar last year.. they turned a 4th round pick into a 1st and still had a stud goalie in the year they’re going for it. It was the right decision at the time, it doesn’t look like it as much now but it was good asset management.

I think they're both very similar goalies and if you reverse the situations the development would have still been similar. The biggest difference is Mandolese is playing pro at 20 while Ellis is still in the Q but he also has a contract now. But that was impossible to predict at the time and is mainly covid related I think.
