It's been pretty quiet around here lately. Not much positive to say lately so I have been trying to stay away from posting to much negativity about the team.
So it depends on which team decides to show up during the round robin will decide our faith.
The Team that has beat Moncton and Bathurst 9 - 2 each or the team that got beat bad by both of them.
They have shown signs of being a good team and just when you start seeing positives they come back to earth.
Goaltending has been an issue all year. Decent some nights and average to bad some nights.
Defense has been well documented.
Our home record has not been good since the restart. Maybe they are lucky to only be playing two games at home during the playoff.
If they do get through this round robin, I don't see them with a chance at beating Charlottetown.

There have been nights where we have played at a level where we can compete with Val D'Or.
There have been others where we could lose to Jr A team.
Charlottetown isn't that good. They are a full tier below Val D'Or. Of course, Val D'Or is pretty much alone in being good.
I expect Bathurst to win the round Robin, lose to Charlottetown in a close second round and then for the league to simply end their season.

Injuries to key guys could also be a factor. We'll need both Kotkov and Emond in the lineup to have much of a chance at winning this thing, even though Patenaude played quite well the other night.

I think you are correct in that it depends on which team shows up to play. If everyone is healthy and our top players play like they can, there is no reason it's not us playing PEI. Any one of these 3 teams can win this round. Depends on wants it more. Lets hope the boys are are ready and want to continue playing as long as they can.

As long as we are still playing, I'll be there but honestly, I'm not sure the risk is worth it any more. OHL canceled. WHL canceled. NS teams quit. Not sure PEI can even leave the Province. Quebec teams in and out of Covid. Variant spreading like wild fire in northern NB. Gentlemen, time to drink up your beer!

I don't think Moncton can come out of this as the top team. We have too many key injuries that aren't going to be resolved before this is over. We might get one player back and that's about it. Moncton might beat each team once but will probably lose at least two games to each team. I think it is a tossup between SJ and Bat. Bat finished the season stronger, except for that beating you guys gave them.

Well that was a much better game by the boys. They played hard at both ends of the ice for the most part.

SJ's forecheck was the best I have seen all year, they forced a lot of turnovers by Moncton's young D. Defensive coverage is still still painful but Emond was sharp. Given that Moncton is inexperienced plus missing 4 regulars(Daoust Labelle Mckinney Loshing), they should not be able to compete with SJ and Bat when they bring their A games.

I wonder why we only get 2 home dates while Bathurst gets 4 and Moncton gets 3, anyone know? It’s not like there should be scheduling conflicts as the event list at TD Station should be pretty short?

It was related to the number of home games played during the seasoon. SJ played 17, Moncton 16 and Bathurst only 15. So they got the extra game.

Bathurst 2-0; Saint John 1-1; Moncton 0-2 - we need to win both games this weekend to have any chance. Assume Bathurst beats Moncton on the 28th. Records would then likely be Bathurst 3-1; Saint John 3-1; Moncton 0-4. If we lose both Bathurst 4-0; Saint John 1-3; Moncton 1-3 and the last two games don't matter. Lots of other combinations of course but looking more and more like Bathurst will be the NB Champ. (whatever that means)

Pretty much have to win the rest now. It's going to be hard for either Moncton or SJ to win at this point but stranger things have happened. A loss tomorrow and we're all but officially eliminated.

Looks like nobody wants this thing. The Wildcats probably deserve to win the series. Man saying that left a bitter taste. I almost choked after I clicked submit.
