another one of these posts where you state something that leads to essentially nothing but speculation and rumours why not just state who they will acquire if you happen to know and what the price you hear is? The first post in this thread is about creating discussion. He posted something that is generating discussion. If he gives up the truth of the rumour (is that a thing ?), then his source may not confide in him again. |

Scan that drafts 1st round SJ already have or had 5 players dress for them from that draft already. That narrows it down to 13 players. It’s already said not to be Lapierre. I feel pretty safe in saying if it’s pricey it’s not Dube from Halifax with him leaving the league and all. IMO Charlottetown will still be good so I don’t see them giving up either Cormier or Guay. Quebec is talking about trying to get the Mem Cup so they’re not giving up Rochette. I think this is a go for it year for Shawinigan so they won’t trade Bourque or Beaudoin. That leaves 6 possible guys.
Dufour from Drummondville is a player that would be a great get but is Drummondville looking to unload? On the French board there’s a lot of talk about them moving Simoneau and if that happens Dufour makes a lot of sense. Then there’s Roy from Gatineau but I think he fits with them for the next two seasons. Biakabutuka with Rimouski is a big right handed shot who might make sense but the defence looks pretty set so I don’t know. There’s two guys from Val D’or but the question mark there is are they going to even have a team after the playoffs? If so Lessard could be the guy, they need assets badly.
Lastly is Desnoyers and it was said it’s pricey but it was brought back that people won’t like the price. That makes me think it’s not him. Cam will want something that starts with either Carruthers or Drapeau and probably 2 1st. I just don’t see SJ giving that up.
In saying all that my guess is it’s either Dufour or Lessard.

Thanks for this. I was just going through the same kind of scenarios as well. There are definitely a few nice pieces from that draft that they could add. But again what is the cost to get potentially a one year player. |
