Game #1 of the best of 5 semi-finals goes on Tuesday night.
The Islanders are well rested and Victoriaville is coming off an opening round series that went the distance.
Game time is 7:30 PM from the Centre Videotron in Quebec City.

Big win for the boys. Victo has a fast aggressive physical team. Once the boys settled in after the first 10 mins it was a great game. Ellis played solid. Reading over in the French forum still that the isles are overrated even after beating a strong Victo team. The Quebec fans just truly hate losing to maritime teams.

Reading over in the French forum still that the isles are overrated even after beating a strong Victo team. The Quebec fans just truly hate losing to maritime teams. The 2013 Mooseheads were over-rated because of inexperience, a weak defence, and average goaltending. That team went 77-8-3-1 over the season, playoffs and Memorial Cup. The Islanders probably aren't a 35-5 team over a regular season. But what they are is a pretty deep, well rounded team with high-end offensive powerr, excellent defense and excellent goaltending, who work hard and are well coached. Don't look for validation elsewhere. You guys know what you have. |

In that 2013 cup Portland and London also totally took advantage of weak sisters in their divisions. WHL and Q tend to weight schedule more by geography. Still Halifax crushed London at the cup. So is it glass half empty weak opponents make team look better? Or is it glass half full and weak opponents look weak because they had to play Halifax so many times? Halifax didn't have 8 games against themselves. If they had they would have lost more. Rocket, Cats, Titan, Dogs, and Eagles had to play Halifax so many times it made them look worse than they were. Though Eagles were pretty weak. In the CHL show me a team that can go that long schedule and lose less than 8 games then you are showing me a pretty deep team. Because in the CHL you can bet those teams lose guys for chunks of season for things like WJC invites. |
