As a 16yr old rookie last season, Oliver put up some pretty good numbers.
38GP 9A 13G 22Pts
He's a kid that always put up decent #'s.
With an expanded role this upcoming season, what could we expect from the 17yr old from New Brunswick?

I expect he’ll be in the top 6, Atleast for the first half of the season…I could see him putting up 50+ points playing with a Guay and LeBlanc.

In my years of watching the league, I think that the toughest transition a player goes through is from his 16 y/o season to his 17 y/o season.
When you are 16, you coach can really shelter your minutes and protect you in the lineup. But for anyone who has a promising 16 y/o season, the pressure is really on at 17. You're expected to step up your game and continue to develop as a major junior player. You might be looking at minutes on the top two lines and a leadership role on your team. Other teams have you on their radar and you're drawing some of the top checkers.... who typically would be a more experienced and more physically mature player.
Remember, may 17 y/o players in the league are rookies who are just getting established in the league. For a guy like Oliver (and many others in the league).... he's now in a spot where he's got quite a bit of added responsibility.
Oliver is a character player who had a great 16 y/o season. Remember the comparison when we drafted him.... Keith Getson. Hopefully he can be a real leader on our team and play a prominent role.
