From the Sea Dogs website: sjseadogs.com/article/sea-dogs-training-update The Saint John Sea Dogs announced today they will be temporarily training in Quebec. The team travels to their new training site in Rivière-du-Loup, on Monday, January 24. “It’s important that we allow our student athletes to continue training as it’s vital for their health, morale, and psychological well-being” said Sea Dogs President & General Manager, Trevor Georgie. Other Quebec Major Junior Hockey League teams have permission to train under certain restrictions in Nova Scotia and Quebec. There is no restriction in New Brunswick’s mandatory order for teams to train outside the province. “Our players need to be ready to play games once we restart and high-level athletes can’t stop training completely over an extended period of time” said Georgie. “This is a temporary solution and we will continue to follow our rigorous protocols. We look forward to returning home to TD Station and performing for our fans soon.

Good move to be able to get back on the ice, since every other team has been practicing with the exception of the NB teams.
The Sea Dogs probably need this more than any team with all the changes made over the holidays.

Crazy to have travel to QC, when your rink sits empty and you have solid covid protocols in place.....common sense is gone out the window. Yet in England and USA stadiums are packed....

How does this work? Are they staying up there for a week or something? I would have to assume they’re not travelling 5+ hours every day each way.

Hockey is back. Practices and games allowed with TD Station permitted a capacity of 50%. Sounds like concessions are able to be open, unlike the last game before Christmas.

It's strange the way it goes with Higgs - night and day. You go from NB teams travelling to Quebec just to practice - to playing games at 50 percent capacity and with concessions available overnight. It's like he's bipolar. . . I can't find the info that says hockey is back in NB next week at 50% capacity - but guessing you guys know what you're talking about.

The Sea Dogs have made a lot of changes - and let's face it - nobody knows how long it will take for them to click.
I have a feeling Gordie is going to have them playing a tight game. He's way - way underrated as a coach.
You Saint John fans are going to be in a whirlwind the rest of the way. I hope attendance gets back to 100 percent before long.
Ya - wow - enjoy every minute.
I worked in Saint John for about a year. The waterfront was really nice.
