t.co/1tTSM0t4NwThe team has signed 2nd rounder Cole Burbidge for next year. Like Simon Hughes last year, this is a kid who went south for better competition who has chosen the major junior route. There should be a top 6 spot or two that he can fight for next year.

There should be a top 6 spot or two that he can fight for next year. He's a really good player. This is how I saw him a few months ago before the Q Draft: Not meaning to say that my "scouting" is anything special. . . COLE BURBIDGE, The Mount U 17
2005 C COLE BURBIDGE, The Mount U 17 6'0" - 150 lbs. a - Led NSBAAAHL in assists (48) b - Set league record for assists (48) c - Named to NSBAAAHL 1st All-Star Team Cole Burbidge is a big, smooth skating playmaking center with a heads-up style that allows him to find the open man. He likes to carry the puck in deep and often resembles Brodie MacArthur the way he sets up down low in the right corner and draws a defender out of position to thread a goalmouth pass - sends it back to a defenceman for a point shot - or simply walks out front to take the shot himself. He's very creative and smart. He has the speed to catch defencemen flat footed.
Cole was with the Newbridge Academy program before it ran into trouble and then played a high-scoring season with the local Valley Wildcats U 15 team. He finished 2nd in league scoring, trailing only Tyler Peddle, and set a new league record for assists in a season (48). His 80 points was the fourth best recorded in league history. He averaged 2.50 points per game.
In this Covid shortened season, he averaged almost 2 points per game (23 points in 13 games) with The Mount , and nearly doubled the next highest scoring player on the team. He is ranked in the 3rd round by Central Scouting for the upcoming QMJHL draft.
