The Sea Dogs return to play on February 4 against the Armada. Another game on Sunday against the Oceanic.
These were to be the opponents this weekend anyways.
Looking forward to the games at TD Station.

From the Harbour Station website
As of Friday Jan 28th 2022 As per GNB COVID RULES REVISED WINTER LEVEL 2
** MAJOR CHANGES WILL BE IN EFFECT FOR THIS GAME AND UNTIL FURTHUR NOTICE ** - CONCESSIONS OPEN (Incl Tim Hortons). CONTINUAL MASK WEARING EXCEPT WHEN ACTIVELY EATING OR DRINKING - Half the SEATS AND ROWS WILL BE CLOSED TO ENSURE SOCIAL DISTANCING, as per GNB order. - SEATS WILL BE GENERAL ADMISSION. PATRONS SHOULD ARRIVE EARLY TO GET THEIR CHOICE. - The MAIN LOBBY will be limited by the 6' social distanceing mandate. This may mean a longer wait time outside the building before entry. -Flex will be redeemed and tickets already purchased for these games only will be valid. No tickets will be sold
And the most absolutely stupid, absurd "rule"
As per the City of Saint John, the PEDWAY will be CLOSED 90 minutes before and 90 minutes after any event at TD Station.

The pedway rule has to be the most stupid one out there. The city decided to close the pedway because there was a swimming competition and families were overlooking the Aquatic Center and gathering in the pedway. And one person complained. So instead of having the security guard who was positioned 20 feet away ask them to move along, the city decided to shut the entire pedway system for any event at the Aquatic Center or TD Station.

While you are not wrong, having attended a few games at Harbour Station over the years, the pedway tends to be quite congested before and after games - it makes sense to me that if the goal is to reduce crowding and promote social distancing, that would be one of the first changes. Don't get me wrong - I love the interior walkway and wish we had something like it in Moncton to avoid those long outdoor walks in the elements, but I can see how it is not COVID-friendly.

Just seems silly to say the say 500, 1500, 2500 or whatever the number is thats about to all go sit in seats in the arena can't socially distance in a line inside for comfort vs needing to stand outside. Its just another knock against the older crowd it seems like. They're ok to go to the arena, sit in general admission seating, eat and drink unmasked but not able to stand inside on the way into the arena. If standing in the line isn't covid friendly...being at the game can't be that covid friendly either in that at least the crowd in line should be masked at all times where the people at the game certainly will not be. I just dont get some of this. Come to the game just dont expect to stand in line inside before the game but please come and pick your general admission seat? Meaning since seating isn't assigned you could end up sitting in 3 seats in 3 periods if you get up and someone takes your seat? Just seems to make zero sense. And no, i'm not arguing that people catch covid off of seats lol just saying the amount of movement that may create seems to go against the social distancing as much as you can logic that keeps being thrown at us.

But it's OK for the pedway to be congested during lunch hours with high school students, workers, etc. Government decisions are not making any sense.

Well, speaking from what I have seen at Harbour Station in the past, there is a bottleneck that forms entering and exiting the building via the pedway that leads to considerable crowding - the way it is designed and laid out, I am not sure how you completely avoid that. And from having been in SJ numerous times over the years for business, there is absolutely no comparing noon hour traffic in the pedway to the crowds entering and exiting Harbour Station for an event. I can completely see how forcing people to exit and disperse outdoors may be the only solution - as I recall, there is one, relatively narrow, access point to the pedway, which causes the bottleneck. I am not sure how bad it would be with a reduced crowd on hand, but with a regular crowd size, it is crowded. I get that it sucks, especially for the older crowd - but a lot of things suck at the moment with this COVID crap.

I have Question regarding this part.
Flex will be redeemed and tickets already purchased for these games only will be valid. No tickets will be sold.
Does this mean you don't need to redeem your Flex ticket for a normal ticket with a seat assigned? You just show the Flex voucher at the door?
I'm Trying to avoid a call to TD station.

The part that is being missed here is that there was a significant outbreak as a direct result of this. The takeaway was that allowing a large crowd of people in a poorly ventilated environment is not a good idea. The difference between Harbour Station and the pedway is ventilation. There are very few spots with anything resembling proper ventilation from the Aquatic Center to Harbour Station (the pedway is a small tunnel with little air circulation).

Re significant outbreak - Do you mean the swimming competition where everyone crowded in together? Yes, there was someone in the crowd who was infected which caused a chain. The problem with the situation is that the walk from the beginning of the Aquatic Center to inside Harbour Station has approximately the same risks as people standing still outside the Aquatic Center. Sure, it isn't going to be hours, but the air flow is a problem. Also, because of the ventilation issues, if someone were to be in there with no mask for an extended period of time, the potential period for affecting others would be significant (versus Harbour Station itself where the period would be shorter due to improved air flow)

People were standing around for hours on end in one small confined space of the pedway near the pool. Walking to a hockey arena is a bit different.

If the rules put in place allow Saint John and the other NB teams to host games two weeks before NS and PEI - you know - at this point after no hockey for over a month - the Sea Dogs' fans will surely accept that.
I actually thought - just for a moment - that the season might be in jeopardy - and here we are. Let's turn this negative into a positive - JMO.
Does anybody know what the line combos and D pairs looked like at the Sea Dogs' practices?
If anybody knows this sort of info and prefers not to post themselves - just click on my username and I'll put that info up for you - with complete - 100 percent guaranteed anonymity.
That kind of info really helps to promote your teams - and with Covid - everybody really needs to market hard going forward.
