Haha.... game #2 will be Friday night and he's likely getting another 5 minute major that night. But after that.... you never know! the least surprising part of his debut was seeing the 5 minute major under his name..... you just knew he was scrappin in his debut because you never know if there will be a game 2....

Here's some more love for Hunter from Ken Campbell: kencampbell.substack.com/p/meet-hunter-drew-the-most-unlikely?s=w?unlock=trueHunter is to be given credit for overcoming the odds, never quitting, and sticking with his hockey dream. But we really need to celebrate this success story. It is a great credit to Jim, Guy, and others in our organization that they were able to identify Hunter and work with him to develop as a hockey player. His time in Charlottetown was critical to his success on the ice.

I came across something interesting today about a former Rocket fan favourite.... I was reading up on the upcoming Centennial Cup in Estevan, Sask. The Western Capitals are in the tournament at the rep from the MHL. If you follow local hockey, you'll know that the Caps were scheduled to host the Fred Page Cup this spring, but Hockey Canada cancelled all of the regional tournaments this year and instead made a larger field for the Centennial Cup. One of teams participating, the Red Lake Miners, is the rep from one of the smaller leagues in Northern Ontario, the Superior International Junior League. It's up in the Thunder Bay/Kenora area in the extreme northwest of Ontario. Red Lake is a small mining town way off the beaten path in Northern Ontario. I'm sure it is great for the town to see the local Jr. A team advance. The coach and GM of the team.... Geoff Walker, from Charlottetown! Well done!! www.cbc.ca/news/canada/thunder-bay/red-lake-miners-2022-sijhl-champions-1.6439781

I have not seen UPEI announce it officially but Zac Beauregard has committed to playing for the Panthers! He mentioned on an Eastlink interview last week that he had met with the coach that week and is excited to join.
Always been one of my favourite players, will definitely be checking out some more Panther this upcoming season. Nice that no what Beau will get a chance to play in the USports championship with UPEI hosting.

Great to have Zac back on the Island with the Panthers.

Blais just signed with the Rangers. 1 year just over a million I think. Definitely a "let's see how your knee is" contract.

Hopefully he can get his game in track. That Eagles team was awful and would not help development. It is no surprise they dealt away half their team on the weekend.
I thought Ouellet looked solid in limited action in the first half of the season with us. Hopefully he can get on track playing closer to home.

Congratulations to Xavier Simoneau on signing a one year AHL deal with the Laval Rocket.
Since he was just drafted last year, the Habs have until next June to sign him to his entry level deal. Bringing him into the organization this way is similar to how Anaheim transitioned Hunter Drew to the pros after drafting him following his 19 y/o season.
Best of luck Xavier!

Kind of Isles alumni, but Angus Booth just got drafted by LA in the 4th round. Good for the kid…
