Won’t be this year, unfortunately. His deal is a 2 year contract for 23-24 and 24-25. I am gonna say he plays an NHL game before the year ends Me too. I think he would be a good player to play under MSL.

Not a bad career for a guy who was a throw in for a trade.

Lots of former Islanders still alive for us to cheer for in the QMJHL playoffs:
Brabenec and Gill in Sherbroke Lapenna in Gatineau Plandowski and Hamel in Moncton Oliver, Goobie, Simard-Sancy, Fortin, and Elliott in Drummondville Aguilar in Rimouski

Keiran Gallant is going to play with UPEI next year No surprise…should fit right in with his style of play. Hulton and Macpherson play similar styles of hockey

Yes he is a perfect fit.... begs the question tho why MacPherson doesn't recruit Isles alumni more heavily... always seems strange how OHL centric the recruiting process for UPEI Panther hockey has been

Yes he is a perfect fit.... begs the question tho why MacPherson doesn't recruit Isles alumni more heavily... always seems strange how OHL centric the recruiting process for UPEI Panther hockey has been A lot of the AUS is like that though. If you’re from Quebec, odds are you’re going to a school in Quebec or if you wanna stay in the AUS, you go to Moncton which I totally understand. Dal isn’t really pulling any high end recruits and they have SMU to compete with, so a lot of guys want to go there because it’s university hockey (a lot only play because it’s paid for), SMU is just better and the night life is a lot better in Halifax then most of the other options in the AUS. X is always going to draw well because of their reputation as a party school and UNB is going to draw the best of the best because they’re going to win. Acadia really does no recruiting in the Q either, most of their guys are coming from the WHL and OHL. Also keep in mind Charlottetown isn’t pounding out CIS guys lately, you’ve had a lot of NHL prospects and a lot of guys go to the AHL/ECHL instead of playing CIS. It makes it hard to draw those guys in that aren’t going pro though, when a percentage of them are French and never going to stay, a bunch more choose to go closer to home for school and then you’re one of 4 teams all sort of fighting for 2-5th in the AUS and looking at the same guys to come to your program. I think once you sort of find your pipeline, be it OHL/WHL you just sort of keep hitting it because that’s where you have the most success recruiting guys from.

Always thought Matt welsh would end up a panther…loved the island, but maybe he wanted to play at home after his 5 years away.
Another guy like Clavelle, who plays for X, certainly would’ve been a regular in the Panther lineup.

Not really just talking recently moreso since Q hockey came here at all..... very few Rocket/Isles alumni went on to play UPEI and to me it would make sense to recruit your own backyard rather heavily.... plenty of them have played CIS not everyone can play for UNB anyways merely an observation
