The Islanders finish off a three game weekend set by hosting the Chicoutimi Sagueneens. We will want to take one win out of the weekend contests, so hopefully we have enough gas left in the tank for this game.
Game time is 3:00 PM.

The season series between the Isles and Sagueneens is at 1-0 for the Islanders.
Charlottetown beat Chicoutimi 8-1 in their lone meeting so far on February 6th, the second game back in the return to play.
Chicoutimi sits exactly at .500 in regulation play this season with their overall record being 20-20-1-4. The Sagueneens have accumulated 45 points on the campaign which has them sitting in 12th place overall.
Zachary Roy, Xavier Simoneau, and Jakub Brabenec will all remain out for the weekend finale.
Oliver Satny will "presumably" get the start this afternoon between the pipes after Lappena has played lights out in back-to-back nights and will most likely be given some rest.

Would be nice to see someone besides Budgell, Guay or Cormier on the goal side of the ledger today....

Lapenna better stay healthy or isles must as well pack It in, Statny is brutal Hasn’t been great. Can have good moments but it’s the bad ones that stick out. Some saves he’s gotta make at this level.

Islanders clinch the win with an EN goal by Budgell - but only 5 on 5 skaters with Chris Inniss in the box for a major for a check to the head on Ben Boyd
Guessing the hit will be discussed here as Boyd looked to be in pain heading off the ice possibly favouring a shoulder.
As they say - the officials are a lot closer to the play than we are.
Watching several times on the replay - I couldn't tell - but the broadcasters comment that it looks to be shoulder on shoulder.
Hopefully somebody gets a vid up for a better look.
Inniss and Boyd seemed to have an ongoing feud all game.
Chicoutimi played a good game.
Love the Sunday afternoon games!

Yeesh, was sitting right by where the players go on and off the ice and Boyd looked to be in a lot of pain. Kind of looked like it might be an arm/shoulder more than his head.
The accident with Patrick Guay was scary, very lucky to walk away from a skate to the face.

Satny is a battler a fun goalie to watch because he doesnt play that strong north american technical style. He is mist effective on tight plays very quick pads… i find he really struggles on point shots and unfortunately when he goes long periods of inactivity
Only caught about half the game between cooking and watching the pga… what happened with boyd

I thought the hit isn't worthy of a suspension. Unfortunate result. It wasn't "predatory". In this league though my guess is because the refs called it a 5 it will result in a game. I don't know the history with this player.
I expected more criticism of the Isles play this week. But it's a hard stretch on all teams right now with compressed schedule. I think they will be fine. Saint John is playing really well right now. Quebec is supposedly playing well but every week they give up an ugly game. By ugly it means lose 9-2 or lose 7-3 to Chicoutimi type of loss.
Everyone is going through it. 20 more regular season games is many many games. Do not mentally exhaust before the playoffs.
