The Charlottetown Islanders arrive in Saint John for the last time this regular season to play at TD Station.
The teams met last week (in PEI) and the Dogs came out with a 2-1 win.
Most recently the Islanders beat the Wildcats last night at home 5-0 and the Sea Dogs last played on Saturday - beating the same Wildcats 5-0 in Moncton.
Should be another tight game.
Go Sea Dogs Go!!

Excited for this one! Would be nice to see a bumper crowd tonight. Expecting a tight, hard fought game.

Looks like no Kuznetsov again tonight. Marshall Lessard is listed as playing.

Hopefully we can keep penalties to a minimum tonight. I guess I better hope for the Isles to stay out of the box too. They seem to have better/more chances on our PPs.

3 star sweep in a 4-3 OT win? Oh well I'll take it. 🤣

What a game. For those who didn't watch it, might have been game of the season. Many talking points.
The Sea Dogs were ready to fight, and didn't care what it took to win the fight. Unfortunately I think they lost sight of the game and were thinking only of the fight. By the middle of the second period the Islanders were showing their class. Tape to tape passes, better scoring chances and deserved to be out front. Cormier and Elliot were the 2 stand outs for me. Cormier just oozes class with the puck and skating. Elliot was someone I really wanted at the deadline (even more now that I found out he's from Musquash after chatting to their family at the game).
Dufor was pulled off the powerplay in the third period. In the second period during that 5 on 3. Islanders knew the puck was going to go to home every shot, and blocked accordingly. It felt very much like playing a game of peewee where you have someone who's clearly a step above in shooting and you just give them the puck too much.
Interestingly that first PP unit that scored the opening Sea Dogs goal didn't have Dufor on it. But he found his game (OT breakaway aside). Perfectly waited pass and better patience by Dahoust to slot the short handed goal. Simple pass to pick out Burns for what should have been the game winner.
Overall great game. Who knows how many players were recovering from a bit of a ST. Patty's day night? Nice to Lessard back in the lineup. Who was promoted to the 3rd line by the end of the game.
Odds are tonight should.. should be an easier game.

The boys look like they have turned the corner and have been playing some very good and consistent hockey the past few weeks. They are looking like real contenders now.
