Bowness out today, Brett Arsenault called up to take his spot. Probably sore hand. He hit his helmet 9 outta 10 punches.

Really expected an offensive outburst in at least one of these games this weekend...... not gonna lie a bit disappointed overall but at least we got the points
Quebec thumped Halifax..... that's a statement game from them

I was thinking the same thing, I guess at the end of the day they didn't give up to much and still got the 4 pts. but with Quebec thumping the Moose and then SJ beating Quebec yesterday the standings are going to be interesting over the next couple of weeks, especially with SJ playing the Eagles 5-6 more times. The team was playing solid hockey until the injuries happened, again a regular players out yesterday.
I thought Satny played solid made some big saves when he needed to.
But man that Topilnycky kid is a big boy for his age it will be fun to watch him develop over the next few years.
Hopefully the boys come out hard Vs SJ and play a solid 60 min and not another solid 40 min last game almost slipped away after a 5-1 lead.
Go Isles Go

I'm not sure why we can't open the floodgates and lambaste the weaker teams in the league. In the last couple of months, all of Quebec, Bathurst, and Saint John have put some thumpings on some of the second and third rate teams.
Saint John beating Quebec yesterday really helped us. I know it inches SJ closer to the top of the conference, but that Quebec loss draws us even with them, but we have a game in hand. If we are tied in points with Quebec at the end of the season, they have the tie break on us because they have more regulation/OT wins.
I guess we'll really know what we have after this coming weekend. We play Saint John at home on Thursday, up in Bathurst on Saturday, then up in Rimouski on Sunday afternoon. If we sweep the set, we should be the odds on favourite to finish first overall in the league. If we lose three straight, then we're probably still a solid bet for 2nd in the conference, but we have to be very worried about the second round matchup.... because we will play a tough team there, assuming we get by round 1. What is likely to happen is that we hopefully go 2-1 and cross our fingers that if we lose that it comes in overtime.
Critical time coming up.

Go Isles Go Yes i think we have a few hidden gems in the system and Topilnycky is one of them for sure one of the real keys to this teams success has been the ability to land players late in the draft..... much moreso than we ever did before..... makes constantly trading high picks not as crippling as it probably should be current roster players Gallant (13th rounder) Boyd (5th rounder) Todd (7th rounder) Horth (9th rounder) Bowness (10th rounder) Trudeau (11th rounder) not our pick but scouts wanted him in Joseph deal so deserve credit McQuaid (9th rounder) affiliates we have seen a bit of Aresnault (4th round) Jelly (8th rounder) Simard (9th rounder) Topilnycky (3rd rounder)

And I guess it would make sense to say that maybe we are focusing on defensive hockey. That would be a staple of a Jim Hulton team. We've allowed 149 goals against, which is 8 better than the next best team.

Ruccia looked good. He got lucky a few times, where he was swimming in the crease…but he kept the puck out which all that matters.
Overall, both CB goalies played well I thought. For us, Satny wasn’t tested much Saturday, but came up with some big saves Sunday.
