oof. some guys sitting behind me were saying that the seadogs coach wanted the islanders players injured. if that's true he certainly got what he wanted. we're now down Boyd, Elliot, Leblanc, Gallant, Simoneaux, Plandowski and possibly Trudeau(took a slash to the hand and didn't look right afterwards). u ugly ugly game. lapenna had a rough go. I can see that. He was a thug and dirty player when he played. He's also the only coach I've seen in a long time scream at the refs with injured players still down on the ice.

Awful reffing, when the refs didn’t call Poirier on the knee on brabenec in first , it was wide open for sea dogs to bully the isles with dirty hits , than Gallant gets knee on knee no call than Plando Gets puck in mouth and than simmeaou gets knee on knee, refs let this game get out of hand for sea dogs. Sea dogs were very lucky to win this game with bounces and Frankie struggling and isles down players, if I was sea dogs I’d be ashamed of their actions take your blinders off simouneau shouldn’t be cutting across the trolly tracks and bail out on a hit. Macdonald didn’t extend his knee out one bit, unfortunately simoneau got hurt but he tried to avoid the hit... what’ about sayes cross check to the face? An cornier running the sea dogs goalie? That was a good rough game goaltending on both sides should have been better.

Multiple players injured and players from both teams tossed out is not a normal thing to have happen unless there are liberties being taken. On the game side of things, goalies didnt show up for either team, the score doesn't reflect the actual pace of the game. The Sea dogs definitely looked good on the pp but they didn't tidy anything up and let the islanders back in with a shortened bench. I wouldn't really use this as a statement game or measuring stick of any sort, atleast, not until we see the fallout from the injuries and suspension

Oh boo who.
Not like every team that's ever played the game hasn't went through the same thing. If your a good team you put it behind you and go win the next. Stop whining 😂 lord.

Game Analytics - I didn't watch the game.
SOG: CBI 37; SJSD 21. The game summary shows 29-21 Islanders.
Scoring Chances from HPA: CI 17; SJ 14
PBW: CI 110; SJ 104
Even Strength Possession: Within 14 seconds of each other.
O Zone Possession: CI 14:31; SJ 7:53 - a bit surprising looking at the final score.
Player Index SJ: 233 Lawrence; 214 DesRoches - DesRoches has been showing up frequently in the analytics over the past month or so.
Player Index CI: 202 Guay; 195 Biakabutuka - not very often do you see players in the 200 plus range from both teams. Despite the final score - it looks like the Islanders played well enough to win.
TOI SJ: D Sevigny 24:32; F Lawrence 19:38 TOI CI: D Cormier 25:21; F Budgell 27:12
+/- CI +4 DesRoches; SJ +1 Ryan Maynard
SOG: SJ 3 x 3 players; CI 7 Cormier
Dangerous Scoring Chances: SJ 2 x 4 players; CI 5 Horth and Stairs
Faceoffs: SJ 11/19 Lawrence; CI 13/21 Budgell
Hits: SJ 5 Olivier Picard; CI Cormier 3
SBL: SJ Poirier 3; CI Budgell and Cormier with 2 each.
Takeaways: SJ 14 Poirier; CI 11 Cormier

Does your report have 5X5 Corsi for/against? Im curious how close the teams were in that number. Game Analytics - I didn't watch the game. SOG: CBI 37; SJSD 21. Takeaways: SJ 14 Poirier; CI 11 Cormier Yes - everything (with corresponding video backup) is available at the touch of a key. I'm really just learning how to use the service so it takes a minute to search for some things. They list it as 6 on 6 rather than 5 on 5 - but guessing that's what you meant - teams at even strength. When I started doing this sort of thing - I made the decision to only post on the positive side. I don't want to make any players possibly look bad. For every plus number - there is a corresponding negative - and there were a lot of players showing a negative CORSI in this game. The leaders in CORSI for each team were: CI: Stairs 12; Trudeau 5; Biakabutuka 5 and Brabenic 4. SJSD: DesRoches 8; Trenholm 7; Poirier 5 and Daoust 4. Hope that was what you were looking for.

Wondering about CF-CA. But it least what you share tells the possession leaders. I did think Stairs had a good game. We need Stairs and Roy to see a breakout. I think Roy will get going soon, he’s always been a high percentage shooter and his shooting percentage is way down. If you looked at this career averages, he should have another 3 goals which would give him 12 points in 15 games, which isn’t amazing but considering he missed a month I think I’d accept that. I think he’s due to pop and we see him come back up closer to the mean.

Zachary Roy showed an even CORSI for the game. The Sea Dogs led in overall CORSI 52% to 48% for the Islanders. Despite how close that shows - a few players did have significantly negative CORSI numbers in the -5 to -8 range. Like several posters have been saying - I think a lot of players are getting worn down with the heavy schedule - while a few seem to be thriving with the extra ice time. With the top four teams in a bit of a log-jam - and with so many significant injuries - it makes it tough for coaches to rest players. It's like it's already the playoffs many nights. I'm really enjoying the busy schedule - but it gotta be hard on the players. Barring the playoffs - none of them have ever been through this sort of a gruelling schedule. Some guys are really stepping up - DesRoches; Sevigny; Daoust; Cormier despite the injury, Budgell has been a horse, Trudeau, Horth and so many others - and that's what I really like about the analytics - they can reflect character.

I agree that the heavy schedule could be taking its toll.
Teams have played a lot of hockey in March/April.
