Brett has been an important part of this team and a great contributor to the community through all of his 5 seasons here.
To an extent, I think this awesome outreach work is a continuation of the good things that guys like Welsh, PO, Getson, and many others used to do in the community.
The Islanders bring in great people and make them into better people. I hope that all of the great leadership that Budgell shows on and off the ice helps to influence the younger players on our roster who will be here for a few more years.

IMO, his #10 should be raised at some point in the future.
