Guys if game 1 was today who would you start? Franky was brought in to be the guy, but lately I feel Satny has outperformed him. We need Franky to be that stud he’s known to be if we want a chance hopefully he gets back to that. So I guess to answer my own question if today was game 1 I’d go with Franky kn a very short leash and if he struggles early in game 1 I’d let Satny take the reigns

I agree. I’ve never been a huge fan of Lapenna’s play, but Simoneau has vouched that he’s the best goalie in the league many times so I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt.
Hopefully he can get it together…at the very least, Satny is a good enough 1B.

Frankie was awesome today. He has these games where he lays an egg….but don’t forget that now 5 of his 13 wins are shutouts.
I’m a little surprised with how he’s been used. Satny started strong but obviously we go for a veteran like Frankie. Around mid-season Oliver experiences some struggle, but he has played very well in March/April….he deserves the time Jim gives him.
But I’ve seen Hulton ride a goalie hard…..like Welsh and Ellis. I’m really surprised that Satny has played as much as he has since Lapenna has been acquired.
I know that Lapenna was hurt shortly after the trade. Is is possible he’s not at 100% and the Islanders are managing his load to prepare for playoffs?

The decision was made to go get Lapenna..... for the playoffs.... so he will be the starter and it won't be on a short leash at all
You can raise the question as to whether it was the right move to go for the goalie after the season ends...... to me i was on record thinking it was not the right move but once it was made you can't change it now..... i would have if pressed to get a goalie tried to land Hurtubise myself..... but we have the relationship with Drummondville and it seems teams often dip into the same pool when they load up so
