For what it's worth on your attendance: When you have so many people spending hundreds of dollars on Memorial Cup ticket packages, history shows it make the playoff attendance take a hit. Two recent examples with Halifax and Quebec. Quebec playoff run in 2015 when they did host vs 2006 when they didn't. theqmjhl.ca/schedule/179/9/hometheqmjhl.ca/schedule/97/9/homeHalifax playoff run in 2019 when they did host vs 2013 when they didn't. theqmjhl.ca/schedule/191/5/hometheqmjhl.ca/schedule/172/5/homeSaint John have the added variable of Covid. Not as many season ticket holders this year so not as many people roped into playoff tickets. You'll probably have a very well-attended Memorial Cup. But I'd expect less fans on an eventual playoff run compared to other years. The attendance in Quebec in 2015 can't be compared to 2006. The attendance has gone down a lot between these years and it wasn't because of the Memorial Cup.

So the Sea Dogs are in Rimouski for game 3 tonight (Game 4 on Tuesday). With the series tied 1-1 this is the biggest game of the year for both teams.
Any word on Poirier? I know he played in the second and third after the knee he took. Lefebvre did get a two (2) game suspension for the hit. Side note - the Q site shows that the Wildcats and Huskies were fined for requesting discipline. Guess you gotta pick your battles.
I hope the couple of days off helped any wounded warriors.
Go Sea Dogs Go!!

I think I saw Cormier leave the ice favouring a shoulder on Friday. Innocent hit near center ice.

The Sea Dogs win game theee 5-2. Goals from Daoust x 2 (both SH), MacDonald, Dufour and Ansons. Bezeau and DesRoches each had a pair of assists.
Lets hope the Dogs finish off the Oceanic tonight to set up a great President cup final - however in round 2 with the Islanders. But lets not get ahead of tonights game.
Go Sea Dogs Go!!

Now you know why Remparts fans absolutely want to avoid Rimouski in the playoffs!

Rimouski has a habit of winning the first round. They literally have no stars. Their best player Cormier is hurt but they work hard and had great goaltending tonight. Saint John was a better team but no finish.
Game 5 will be interesting for sure. I said before the series started. Rimouski is no push over.

Rimouski was missing 2/3 of its first line with Cormier and Béland out.

Now you know why Remparts fans absolutely want to avoid Rimouski in the playoffs! Plus in case of les Remparts the familiarity factor would be a good reason to avoid a division opponent. More concerned of series going longer than it needs. Pride often spurs a team to push hard even when outcome pretty obvious. Even in game 3 at Chicoutimi it took 2 periods before Quebec took charge of that game. The Remparts don't want long taxing games or series. They don't want injuries and they don't want suspensions. For SJ the 5 game scare may be the best thing in reality. Gets them in the playoffs and good teams do get better from it. There has been precedent for this with a recent Memorial Cup host. Quebec took Halifax 7 games in 2019 in round 1. Remparts led that series 3 games to 1 and the comeback made Halifax better. But the risk is that sometimes you lose. Which column are the Dogs going to join?

As an Isles fan, I can't see SJ losing game 5 on home ice.....I hope they do, but in reality, I cant see it happening......but im glad the series went the full 5 games. 🙂
