So we know that the Sea Dogs start their playoff run against the Oceanic starting Thursday May 5th.
These two (2) teams split the season series with both teams winning in their own rinks. The Oceanic limped into the playoffs allowing the Mooseheads to take over 5th place in the past 10 games. The Dogs are riding a 15 game win streak to end the season.
I see a 3-0 sweep for the Sea Dogs. SO who is your starting Goalie for the Sea Dogs? I like Couture however Hurtubise carried the Tigres last year in the playoffs and was brought in for this reason.
Go Dogs!!!

Game One: Rimouski 7 - Saint John 2
Game Two: Rimouski 7 - Saint John 2
Game Three: Rimouski 1 - Saint John 0
I know what you're thinking....OMG he didn't pick 7-2 for once. Thats because SJ implodes after game two and doesn't even go to Rimouski, and a forfeit technically goes down as a 1-0 loss.
This forfeit causes Commissioner Giggles Courteau to strip SJ of the Memorial Cup hosting rights and hand them to Quebec, who goes on to win on their home ice.
Scott McCain is forced to sell the team to David Elias, who in turn requires 12 years as a model citizen of the QMJHL to finally get hosting rights back, and SJSD goes on to be the Memorial Cup champions on home ice for 2034. They defeat the five time relocated Florenceville Fix Auto Fuckwads, formerly known as the Acadie Bathurst Titan, in that championship game.

I say Saint John in 4 but Rimouski isn’t a bad team and have a habit to win the first round against better teams. They did it last year and can’t be taken lightly.
But I think Saint John has too much fire power but don’t think Rimouski is a cake walk.

I think they'll continue to share goaltending duties until they are given a reason not to. Couture started the last game of the regular season so I expect Hurtubise will start game #1.

So Couture gets the start for game 1. Kuznetsov is out with an injury.

Well I did say Rimouski wasn’t a cake walk. Tomorrow could be interesting. Rimouski has a habit of winning first round series against better teams.
Only game 1 but tomorrow is very important.

Nice time for half the team not show up.Top six was brutal and defense wasn't much better Courtere played well.

This is where Dwyer will prove his worth. Something will need to change between tonight and tomorrow. Would certainly be nice to get Kuznetsov back. Hopefully the larger Friday night crowd helps too. Seemed to make quite the difference last week playing the same team back to back Thursday and Friday.

I’m no expert but to me it looked like they figured that they were gonna win without putting in much effort.

Embarrassing that only 2,000 bothered to attend.

Kuznetsov back tonight. Not sure why he missed last night but hopefully he's not being rushed back because of last night's loss.

For what it's worth on your attendance: When you have so many people spending hundreds of dollars on Memorial Cup ticket packages, history shows it make the playoff attendance take a hit. Two recent examples with Halifax and Quebec. Quebec playoff run in 2015 when they did host vs 2006 when they didn't. theqmjhl.ca/schedule/179/9/hometheqmjhl.ca/schedule/97/9/homeHalifax playoff run in 2019 when they did host vs 2013 when they didn't. theqmjhl.ca/schedule/191/5/hometheqmjhl.ca/schedule/172/5/homeSaint John have the added variable of Covid. Not as many season ticket holders this year so not as many people roped into playoff tickets. You'll probably have a very well-attended Memorial Cup. But I'd expect less fans on an eventual playoff run compared to other years.
