I really believe the biggest mistake was at last year's draft when Carriere insisted on drafting Perron, 1 pick ahead of Shawinigan's pick of Jordan Tourigny. Tourigny had 4 goals and 17 assists and was a plus 15, playing as a 16 year old in 64 games.

What I'm about to say is a hyperbole and I know it's stupid but the Eagles make the Arizona Coyotes look like a competently run organization.

In a lot of ways drafting an 18yr old makes no sense. 2 year player in 2 seasons we probably don't contend in. Could be a great trade asset at 19...but a 3 year player picked at 17 that we would have more control over and 3 years of just seemed like the obvious way to go at #3 overall. I guess the positive side is that if he reports we have the makings of a much improved team assuming all the rumors are true. But the 10th overall team in this league isn't going to be selling many more tickets or drawing much more interest, either. Assuming Kulich reports we look much improved up front but still middle of the pack at best. And NHL drafted but not from the Q means he'll always have the pro option back in Europe or playing AHL at 19. Almost like every time there are steps forward there's always 1 step backwards. We'll see what this ends up ultimately being but I'm underwhelmed based on the fact he's 18 and being drafted out of Europe. I don’t see why it makes sense for him to go from a full season in pro hockey to juniors after being a NHL 1st pick.

J Squires to Charlottetown. Unsure if he's part of the rumoured deal for Biakabutuka or not but he's headed home. Also hearing rumblings around coaching staff changes due to personal reasons. More coaching changes in addition to Culligan leaving?

We don't know much about him and his situation. Does he see buddies playing in the CHL enjoying it more and getting more scouts watching them? Is North American pro his ultimate goal? Playing in our development systems do have some advantages. He certainly will play a lot and if the production is there he will be a star. I see it as making more sense at 18 but him setting himself up for AHL at 19 or even NHL depending on where he goes in the draft and that situation in a year.

totally agree. Unless we somehow still come out on top (which i cant see) or if he requested a trade that we are unaware of. There has to be more to this if it is true Perron confirmed. Wanted out apparently. He was unhappy with his use at 16 Wow that is an absolute fleece for us…no offense…

This is on Carriere and who knows what promises were made to his home town player last season, if he is not happy here, then he has to go, point finale. Look at it this way, I have 8-10 D ahead of him from last years draft, the scouting staff in Cape were blind sided by this pick, as with most of Carriere's selections, they would find out once the kid's name was called. LIke most 05's from Que, they played zero hockey that season, so at best it was a coin toss on Perron and I think we all seen enough to know is was not a franchise D man picked in the top 10. Secondly, I know we all wanted Perron to be a top 4 guy for us....but let's look at this coming season, with Lavoie and Daigle he likely slots in at #7 and the Coach would have to try and make him a top 4, just to keep the peace. Sly is a no BS guy and he won't hang on to players who don't want to be here. Let's see how this all shakes out tomorrow, but if Perron is gone he is 100% replaceable.

Servicable 20 yo, a former 4th rounder (17yo) and a future 4th. Canning was god awful for a 2nd rounder and had no spot on eagles, guys who were 9th or 10th rounders took his spot.

I assume we will get more in that deal and then the rumoured 16th overall from victo as well
