The 2022 post season kicks off on Thursday. Our first round matchup is with our arch-rivals from Moncton. We've had close game with the Wildcats recently, including the epic shootout on Friday night.
It will be interesting to see what our opening night lineup will look like.
Game time is 7:00 PM.

Hopefully Bowness is back tonight.
I like him a lot. Being 16yr old, he brings a physical aspect to the game and always in the middle of the scrums. Will dance with anyone if needed. He's a great addition for the 4th line.
I hope they keep Boyd out for this series...unless it goes 5 games.
Would be great to have Elliot back. Another physical player who can score a big goal. He's like a "Bull in a china shop" on the ice......another favorite player of mine.

would love to have a full healthy lineup to start especially with it being just a best of 5.... guys like Boyd and Elliot this is the time of year they can really make a big difference
Bowness is fine but at 16 his impact now is limited

I was told that Elliot was on a local podcast recently and said his injury was abdomen related? They couldn't remember exactly but thought it might have been a torn muscle. Not sure what that means for his return. They also mentioned Leblanc's injury as well and it sounds like he's unlikely to be back this season.
If both Lapenna and Lemieux are on their game tonight, it should make for a very exciting game!

Not a bad start......1-0....10 seconds in!
Hopefully it builds up Roy's confidence!
Let's go Isles!!!
Cormier - Laaouan Trudeau - Biakabutuka Maynard - Plandowski
I like having Biakabutuka moved up.

Moncton is really bringing the physicality. I’m sure this is by design to slow down and frustrate the Islanders.

Moncton is really bringing the physicality. I’m sure this is by design to slow down and frustrate the Islanders. Moncton doesn't have the talent to really keep up with Charlottetown obviously, but they are a team who almost never quits no matter the score. Rarely have I left a game questioning on the on ice work ethic. They typically have most of their issues with execution (giveaways, shot selection, caught out of position) and discipline.

The goal is to score in any fashion.......they don't need to look for the pretty, fancy goal.......just put the puck into the back of the net.
4-1 Isles after 2 periods.
The ref missed a couple calls that period.....but it happens....

Pure domination and great to see everybody was clicking thought Roy had his best game as an Islander and it’s perfect timing. Cormier has been a treat he is just in a league if his own out there, Lemieux has gave us fits and can steal games in his own but he looked god awful tonight he will bounce back tomorrow ugly and give the Isles fits I’m sure of it but I’m still hopeful of another Isles win tomorrow. I made it in tonight but will be absent for the rest of the series I hope to see some round 2 action when I get back. Go ISles Go

It was nice to see Plando score last night. Another player who needs his confidence boosted.
Saying that, I really the the change of moving Biakabutuka up to the 2nd paring with Trudeau.
Two strong defensively dman who both are capable of creating offense! Biakabutuka has a strong shot from the point.
I really liked that decision.
