Observations (although I didn't watch the game):
Index: RIM 156; SJ 185 (suggests dominance)
SOG RIM 22; SJ 43 (see above)
Scoring Chances (Home Plate): RIM 12; SJ 18.
Faceoff Wins: RIM 20; SJ 36 (suggests bitch-slappin' - the Sea Dogs can be scary good in so many things))
PBW: RIM 71; SJ 77.
Hits: RIM 20; SJ 9.
O Zone Puck Poss: RIM 7:58; SJ 14:18.
Player Index RIM: 186 Verreault; 179 Soucy. Player Index SJ: 225 Ansons; 208 Cam MacDonald; 207 Sevigny.
Just want to throw it out there that Cam MacDonald's name seems to be prominent in not only this game - but in every playoff game so far.
TOI RIM: D Maltais 23:11; F Verreault 21:34. TOI SJ: D Villeneuve 27:09 (Wow); F Ansons 20:11.
+/-: RIM +1 Gauthier and Soucy; SJ +4 Charlie DesRoches.
There's another guy who's name has been showing up more and more recently - DesRoches.
SOG: RIM 3 Verreault and Dumoulin; SJ 5 Poirier and Dufour.
Dangerous Scoring Chances: RIM 3 Verreault and Dumoulin; SJ 3 Dufour.
Faceoffs: RIM 7/16 Verreault; SJ 13/17 Cam MacDonald.

No matter whether the Sea Dogs win the President's Cup - and really no matter how well they do at the Memorial Cup - Trevor Georgie and his staff went all in at the trade deadline and put together an exciting team that has a chance to win every game against every opponent. He rolled the dice big time.
I don't know him - but he seems to have established himself as a very good GM. The modern day GM's and coaches seem to be a lot more willing to gamble. Coaches pull their goalies earlier - and GM's put their necks out there.

I agree we have an exciting team and can beat anyone. I disagree that Trevor is a very good gm Francis and Kuznetsov didn't cost and Daoust fell in his lap. The trades for ansons Lessard trenholm Dufour were all good trades but he either overpaid or paid market value. The goaltending situation is where he failed miserably we traded a 1st a 3rd and a 4th plus one of the best offensive dmen in the league for a goalie we don't have and 2 1sts for a backup goalie not good asset management.

Did we not trade for Francis last year?

Wow - I can appreciate that TG is not your cup of tea, but you really shortchange him here. He’s hit more than he missed. You really emphasize the misses and shrug off the hits.

Its not like I have a hate on for Tg I actually think he did a good job drafting the last few years just think he dropped the ball with the goalie situation. I don't think professional owners will be as forgiving as he furthers his career.

Hilarious! I would say if a GM was actually able to acquire players of Francis' and Kuznetsov's caliber for nothing (if we assume that is even close to being true 🤦♂️) then that GM should deserve even more credit and that shouldn't be used as a reason to discredit him. Then out of the other side of his mouth he criticizes him for overpaying on other trades.
So to summarize when he acquires players cheap (or for nothing) he deserves no credit. But if he perceives a trade as an overpayment then the GM deserves to be criticized. You can't make this stuff up. No point in trying to rationalize with the irrational. They'll twists facts and reality anyway they please to support their stance that has already been made up, even if some of those arguments contradict one another like we are seeing here. This way of thinking is why some people still believe the Earth is flat or that Trump really won the 2020 election.
And then there's the whole "D'Aoust fell into his lap" argument. I had no idea that the Wildcats had no choice but to trade him to their provincial rivals when he got sent down from the AHL and were also obligated to include Couture while they were at it. Very interesting.
And no he's not perfect. Don't think anyone ever claimed him to be so. There were some issues with some of the goalie trades. I don't think the issue was so much the trades themselves as most of those goalies previous numbers warranted that type of return. I think the problem had more to do with the coaching staff (goalie and defense), but either way it's on him.
Of the 4 GMs (or GM equivalent in Kelly's case) in Sea Dogs history that were here at least 2 seasons, I'd rank Georgie 3rd. Although I wouldn't put him too far behind the 2nd best but miles ahead of the 4th.

Wtf are you rambling about I said his handling of the goalie situation was enough to say he's not a very good manager. On another note if we lose game 5 him and Dwyer should both be fired and not given the honour of representing the team at the men cup.

The Goaltending situation is not all TG's fault either. It seems like everyone that has been here the last 3 years has underperformed expectations. Patenaude looked like an amazing prospect recruit and didn't seems to develop into someone you could trust in a 1 game showdown. Easy to shit on things in hindsight.
