Well - at least Gordie will be able to explain what the fukk went wrong in two languages. . . Who do they (RIM) play next - possibly Kidney vs. Kidney? Just like the broadcasters mentioned - the Oceanic were pesky and resilient - and were they ever. The Sea Dogs played their guts out. Gordie Howe said - "Give the other team credit when you lose. They won because they made fewer mistakes than you did." The Sea Dogs will live another day and be in a really good state - healthy, rested and at home when it matters most. It sucks for their fans - but the time will go by fast. Rimouski plays Quebec next.

Gordie Dwyer has too be fired new coach gets lots of time to get ready. It’s a month away. Who would you suggest Shawinigan didn't fire their coach in 2012 but hired Bob Hartley as a consultant!

LOL. This my friends is why you cannot purchase a ham sandwich at TD Station. So long as the Sea Dogs play out of there, there is already enough choking going around.

I was at the game. Saint John played basically one line all night that didn’t produce. Dufour and lawrence were weak. Lawrence was laying on the ice more then skating. His size hurt him. Burns sat most of the game. Saint John just kept running the same guys.
Rimouski ran the whole team. They don’t have a first line but more a mixed model of grinders and hard workers. And hard work out works skill every time. Hats off to Rimouski they are well coached and seemed to win round 1 against better teams 2 years in a row.
Saint John has a month to define their team and start playing roles if they hope to have any success at the memorial cup

Otherwise that is brutal coaching. One of this team's strength was depth so they should have used it.

Dufour was huge liability all series watch the replay of overtime he had a chance to take the body or at least get a stick in but just skated away from the puck no guts.

I think they lost this series in the 3rd period of game 2 even though they won that game. They were dominating that game until about half way through the 3rd. They were up 4-0 and stopped playing hard. They were on the verge of blowing them out and making a statement but instead let Rimouski get within 2. They never regained their regular season swagger after that.

Dwyer got outcoached the whole series Rimouski made adjustments as the game went on Dwyer didn't.

Georgie took a lower offer from Sherbrooke instead of a bigger one from Quebec for Josh Roy because Quebec was also going to be a contender. He could have taken the picks from Quebec and traded them to Rimouski for Bolduc.

What happened to that trade? I was talking to someone from the Islanders during the trade period and they said the deal was pretty much done to send Desnoyers to Saint John. Nobody really knows what happened except Georgie, The Halifax GM and possibly Bobby Smith. Lots of speculation though. Dogs moved on pretty quickly from Desnoyers when the deal fell through and got Daoust, who was pretty disappointing in this series and especially in the last 2 games(and I say this as a big Daoust fan too 🙁) I'd say either Saint John tried going cheap or Halifax got greedy. It's the only thing that really makes sense

So Vincent Sevigny, one of the hired guns that played so well in the 2nd half this season after being acquired by the Sea Dogs, had zero goals and one assist in this series and was a -6. Pretty sure tonight was his worst game as a Sea Dog. We'll need him to play more like regular season Sevigny at the Memorial Cup to have any type of chance.
And no he wasn't the only one that didn't play up to his regular season standard in this series. I guess his numbers surprise me the most though since he was a big part of Victoriaville's successful playoff run last season. And it's one thing when an underdog team finds a way to shut down offensive players, but his poor defensive play against a mediocre offence is what was really disappointing.

It’s simple if you have a country club style hockey team Gordie Dwyer is not the guy you hire to fix it. Always said he’s the most overrated coach in the last 25 years or so and he never lets me down.

The big guns didn't show up at all this series.....
Since he was hired, I said that Dwyer was not the person to lead this team.
Beausoleil out coached him...
Dufour had 4pts in 5gp.....but was also a -5.
Dauost 3pts....was a -1
Francis 2pts
Lawrence 1pt
Burns 0pts
Reynolds 0pts

They have 3 Q championships, a Memorial Cup win, and I think one year where they lost the final all in the last 12 years. Wouldn't mind if Charlottetown choked like that.
