As a Sea Dogs fan, I'd like to say thank you to you and the Wildcats. Given your rivalry with Scott McCain, it couldn't have been easy signing off on the Daoust trade, but I believe that both clubs will be better because of it.
Also, I believe that SJ and Moncton could become viable trade partners in the future (as opposed to asking for double for everyone)

The trade isn’t done Is it a player coming back for some of the picks? That's deinitely what he is implying (and he's likely right)

SJ having a successful Memorial Cup was a good thing for extended Irving family.
Off the ice - showcases SJ which is an Irving city. It rewards many of their home employees (even if they compete vs Moncton on ice) many Irving industries are run by people in SJ. There is so much pride.
Scott McCain may own the seadogs but J.D. Irving Limited (HQ in Dieppe) owns Cavendish who were visible sponsors of the Memorial Cup and also direct competitors for McCain primary businesses.
Good for NB always good for Irving and good for Robert Irving. And that successful Memorial Cup is his template for the next NB bid which will be Moncton later this decade.

The trade isn’t done Any word on this? Can we tie a bow in this thing? As much as people complained about the Trenholm and Lessard deals this must be one of the best deals for SJ ever. Both Daoust and Couture proved their value ten times over.

The trade isn’t done Any word on this? Can we tie a bow in this thing? You probably can. Not every rumor comes true. And in some cases things that are true....change before they happen. Many people heard there was more to this, that Biakabutuka was going to CB...but depending who you believe either was false or due to other changes or demands the plans changed before becoming official.

The trade isn’t done Any word on this? Can we tie a bow in this thing? The completion of the trade won’t be done until the January deadline or next years draft.

The completion of the trade won’t be done until the January deadline or next years draft. Trade is now complete. My thank you still stands even after this. If a win clause is what it takes to get the deal done, then that's what it takes. I don't expect guys to be free. I just expect that when we call about Daoust, the price isn't Grenier, Drapeau, and every other asset we had at the time.
