Congratulations to all the guys given letters. Good for all of them. Amazing what Brady Burns has given to this team and never recognized and continually treated poorly. When Mac came into coach for the Memorial Cup Burns was used in all situations and was great especially in his own end. I hope Sea Dogs will do the right thing and trade him somewhere he will get some respect.

Someone sounds biased... Burns doesn't carry himself like a leader at all. From the outside you can tell he's not a team-first player, and very bad attitude.

Why create this thread then immediately put a negative spin on it? Burns has played top 6 minutes pretty much since he arrived here at 16, and deservedly so for the most part. How is that being treated poorly? He's a talented player but was part of that underachieving core that lacked leadership, which is why guys like D'Aoust, Sevigny, Trenholm, and Lessard were brought in.
I'm not bashing Burns at all. Any team is better wish him in the lineup but not everyone is leadership material. I doubt he's losing much sleep over it.

And I suppose 4 posts into this thread someone should mention who the leadership group is going to be.
The 3 alternate captains are:
Cam MacDonald Connor Trenholm Marshall Lessard
I don't believe they've named the captain yet but I imagine it will be Desroches. Theoretically could be Burns. 😉

All you gotta do is watch Burns for one game and realize he’s not captain material. Nobody likes themselves more than that kid…can be very talented, but he’s gotta cut some of the shit out

No bias to Burns. Just looking at the fact that the guy has been there since he was 16 as an a offensive player. Played more defensive in the Mem Cup run which shows leadership. Back as a 20 year old on a team that may struggle. Your 20 year olds are usually give the letters. Just doesn’t seem to be a lot of loyalty. Thought you would reward a player who was there for the full rebuild and still there today.

Are we talking about a collectively bargained union here or are we talking about a hockey team? Seniority alone should not factor into the leadership group of a hockey team. Brady Burns is good at what he does. He provides offence. And he did that today. Brady obviously is continuing to do what he does best, with or without a letter. It should be a non-issue.
