The Islanders make their long awaited home debut tonight when they play host to Halifax.
Last night was a tough game defensively so they will be looking to tighten things up tonight.
Game time is 7:00.

Might not matter as much to Islanders if your at the game, but if you can't make it tonight's game is the free CHL TV game of the week.

First period in the books,
Overall not overly an exciting period. I would have assumed the Islanders would have had a bigger opening ceremony considering it’s the 10 year anniversary. Gallant and Barbenec are looking good Lapenna had a couple of nice saves trying to up his trade value.
Definitely different feel with watching a very young team but it will be fun to watch this team grow over the season and over the next couple of years.

For a team full of first-timers, it wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it was going to be. Pretty close game in shots, lots of back and forth. If those couple of posts hadn't happened, would have been a different game. Feel bad for Kearsey on that empty net goal but it happens.
Will be certainly interesting to see how this team comes together.

Definitely a lot of positives to take from that. The team Halifax built should've won by a much larger margin, but it really shows how much of a difference effort can make for a rebuilding team.
There will definitely be downs this year, it's to be expected, but I love what I see from everyone.
I'm very excited to see this team grow and develop into an eventual championship run team.
