What happened in Blainville? Game summary showed the shots were pretty even but looked like discipline and another poor 2nd period killed them?

Bishop tumbled quickly after a red hot start. 2 games in the Q is too small of a sample size to call it a hot start, the kid is way in over his head. The leash is always longer with FA signings, Management likes to think they have found the one everyone missed, it's rarely the case.

Anytime you give up 9 powerplays you're gonna have a bad time. Watching the highlights though it looks like a lot of the same puck watching and turnovers in the defensive zone. Sadly it's been a trend. 1. Weak defensive turnover by Barbashev and then 2 Cats gets caught up in a collision which allows BLB a 2 on 1. 2. PP goal off a rebound and scramble. Puck is sitting in the middle of 4 Cats they all watch Denis bang it in. 3. Morin whiffs a turnover at the blueline while 4 Cats are in deep. Breakaway goal. 4. Iasenza pinches to make a hit and nobody covers for him, Darcy makes defensive turnover as the only man back and Kulikov walks in uncontested. 5. You don't really see it in frame, but Hamel somehow gets so far out of position that Fauchon is able to cruise right up the middle on a pass from their own zone for a breakaway goal. AFG is also in no man's land. You could taxi a 747 between the D on this play. 6. PP goal 4 Cats watching the puck capped with a weak sauce effort from Iasenza in front.

He seems to have decent hands, awareness and shot but if he can't keep up he won't really be able to use those things. It make sense they keep him the rest of the season and see if he can improve his skating in the summer, but he's gonna have to get scratched a fair share to make room for guys with more potential. I'm sure they want to play Macphee as much as they can given their investment in where he was drafted.
