I believe that Simek is sick/injured as well.

It was noted in the transactions thread that Jake Tracey had been reassigned to the MHL. Station Station reported yesterday that Tomasz Szczerba was reassigned to Grand Falls as well.

It will be interesting to see 3 of the recent additions - Drover, Ballard and Dassylva - today. I understand that Nathan Casey will arrive in Saint John soon as well.

Burns benched the first 2 periods I'm guessing it's from Friday night when he wouldn't stop yapping at the refs.

Was a fairly uneventful game sadly. Rimouski kept Saint John at arms length for pretty much the entire game.
I'd say 2 of their goals were brilliant top corner shots. For a team in a full rebuild and full transition they played well. Rimouski clearly bigger, stronger and older than this group.

I wonder if the Burns benching is from the game or maybe trying to force a move to a contender before the deadline? Although there's an almost certainty baring any injury he will become the franchise all time leading goal scorer.

The deadline is over, so he will not be going anywhere.

I would say the benching had to do with a combination of things - his recent suspension and then his misconduct at the end of the game on Friday.  As a 20 year old, you need to be leading by example - which he has not done lately.  This is the coaches message to younger players to show that no one is above the law - and if you don't follow the way the team expects you to act on the ice, you will be sat - regardless of who you are and how long you've been with the team.

What a difference this must have been for Drover. When he left, we didn't play D and had all of the offensive players you could want and massively underachieved.

Now, we have limited offense, but we play a much better defensive structure.

I think the boys played well both Friday and Sundays games. I know we lost but you have to look at overall we are a young team (missing two good guys on D) I think you can see the making of something great here in the future.

We knew this year was going to be a brutal transition. Excited to see the team progress into next season.

Think back to 2018, I remember going to games with the young rebuilding team and seeing night after night of blow out games. Sometimes the other team getting 10 goals!
We got some pretty close games that we are playing. Ok maybe we didn't win but they are playing hard and growing as a team!
These guys deserve a pat on the back!
