I don't think this is specifically related to the above lawsuit, but after investigation the OHL has come down strongly on Niagara for a hazing incident. ontariohockeyleague.com/article/ohl-announces-sanctions-against-the-niagara-icedogs-hockey-club-050423Penalties include: - $100,000 fine to the team. - Niagara forfeits their 1st rd pick in the 2024 OHL draft - GM is suspended for 2 years - 2 players have been given lifetime bans Looking at the rosters it appears both players would have been 20yos next season, so they are each losing their overage season. Not sure how this would potentially affect their eligibility in either the WHL or QMJHL, or their post secondary funding from the CHL. You have to think this would affect their potential to play University or pro level hockey in some form. Perhaps a precedent being set? These are pretty harsh terms, and rightly so if the culture is ever going to see change.

The other guy was a backup goalie - based on his stats, if you really wanted to punish the organization, they should be forced to keep him and play him every night as an OA. They should lose two OA slots for next year as part of this as well - though it doesn't sound like they will.

so 1 might be good enough and one definitely isn't
agree with ya on losing 2 overage slots... that would be real punishment
should lose much more than just 1 first round pick as well

Technically, if they are suspended as Niagara players, then Niagara should lose the 2 OA spots.
