5 wins in a row including 2 on the road , went to the bathurst game last night , neither team looked really interested in playing but moncton had the better chances and buried them.
Fist game seeing Trenholm and Plandowski and they seemed to play well especially Trenholm , very hard working and was rewarded with a nice goal. Really like how Morin puts the puck on the net with some nice low hard wrist/snap shots rather than try to blast it hard as he can and miss the net.
It would be nice to see them catch rimouski for third place . Any thoughts on who they match up better with and have a chance getting to the 2nd round ?
Big test this sunday playing the mooseheads , I plan on going to the game , hopefully can play a full 60 minutes and get some bounces.

Rimouski has a really rough schedule the rest of the way, I'd say they have a solid chance at 3rd assuming they win the games they should and don't lose to Rimouski next week. Playing against BC is a better matchup I'd say.

You guys will win Sunday. I'll be at the game and the Moose are 0-3 when I'm watching them in Moncton. Two of the 6 regulation losses in 2013 were when I was at the Coliseum. First time for me at the Avenir Center
Getting 3rd is important to have a better match up. It'd be nice for the younger players on the wildcats to have at least two playoff rounds this year. Halifax's better players have very little playoff experience. A chance to get 10+ games in this year can go a long way next year and the year after.
Every team 5 through 8 in the east have had stretches where they've looked like they can pose a threat, and stretches where they look like they'll get swept 4 straight. Baie-Comeau is on a good stretch right now. Charlottetown are doing ok lately. Rimouski is doing awful and Cape Breton is being Cape Breton... could look good against Halifax or bad against Saint John. You do want to avoid playing the 4th/5th seed.

I wouldn't say Rimouski is doing "awful" They're .500 in their last 10 and 4 of their losses were against Sherbrooke, Gatineau(x2) and Québec. Their other loss was against Chicoutimi. Awfulw was when Moncton lost 9 of 10 including losses to Cape Breton, Saint John and Charlottetown.

They've had a rough stretch of games against good teams.

Beautiful rink you folks have here. Seems small for 8800. When you fill it in the playoffs is going to be loud. Seats are wider than the scotiabank center.

We're going to be lucky to have 3000 fans during the playoffs but thanks for your kind words. Hope you were able to take advantage of the bouncy castles too.

Good game by the Cats, the played a strong second period. After the power play that let the Moose tie it up 4-4 , it was pretty much over ! but good effort , especially after Labelle left the game.

I think we’ll see around 4500-5000 IF they can get home ice but if they finish 5th and it’s weekday games then I agree it’ll be like 3000-3500

Yah i was careful not to throw shade by not saying "when you eventually go for it". The Cats are doing well for an in between year. Might not get deep enough in the playoffs to fill the rink for a year or two.

The Avenir centre is starting to get more atmosphere than the coliseum, the coliseum was pretty quiet , until the fans thought the offical's made a bad call, or they made it to the second round ! Horn's were being used by kids ! I liked the new "vibe" kids yelling , and back and forth chant's' it felt like a playoff game today, and so it should against a rival like the Moose !

There was a gentleman playing a radio and hitting a garbage can to the drum beat. I'd imagine walking through there at night would have mixed results. Having the majority of 5700 people go through the same exit at the end of the game was fun. I even heard fans in Wildcat jerseys complaining about the layout. That would get crowded if there were 3100 more people.

You don't have to go out that exit, that's just what people do because they follow the crowd. You can exit out any of the other doors you see that say exit, where you'll proceed down the stairwells to side door outside. I believe there's 8 exits in total. Hardly anyone does it, whether that's because they just don't know or they prefer leaving out the lobby I'm not exactly sure.

Labelle, Auger, Lounsbury and Mueller are all out.
They're finally showing signs of life with some effort but it's tough to score when you're missing 4 solid forwards.
Big game against Rimouski tonight but I don't have high hopes.
