The regular season will come to a close today.
Our final matchup is a visit to Halifax to meet up with the high flying Mooseheads.
Game time is 4:00 PM.

Rant….. I get so annoyed at the announcers!!
I’m the first to admit I’m new to junior hockey. Been a hockey fan for almost 40 years and didn’t know the gold mine I had in junior hockey. It’s been a joy to watch the last 2 seasons. So I’m a fan now! Season ticket holder and loving it.
Never, in my 39 years, have I ever listened to such negative play by play (if you can call it that)…ever!
Complaining and begging for the game to be over. Turn your mic off and leave. It’d be better to listen to silence. “The Islanders are begging for this game to be over…” really?
All I see is a bunch of kids, making mistakes, yes, but never giving up. And all I hear are two people complaining.
Nobody expected a win tonight. It’d be nice if they didn’t basically trash the team everytime they lose.
Have they always been this way? Am I crazy?

Am I crazy? </end rant> Wow that must be incredibly frustrating to listen to. The job of the commentator is to give an entertaining experience, sell the brand and provide intelligent insight. I thought your commentator team were very good every time I heard them this year. Surprised they would act this way. |

Well i mean Grimes cant stop a beachball and the special teams have been rotten all year yet we still keep taking multiple penalties
It's not really fun to listen to someone fluff up a team when they are playing like shit
That plus we have been spoiled over the past several years with success ...... this years team just really never did do much to inspire confidence
Sadly next year wont be good either but in 2 years time we should be on the rise again

Am I crazy? </end rant> Both of them were? I know Cory can get pretty negative in his commentary, but George is generally fairly upbeat with his. Though we barely beat a team that almost missed the playoffs and got blown out twice by Halifax. Plus we went from being in great shape to have a competitive first round matchup to going through such a slump we landed Quebec in round one. Not much to be positive about besides the fact the season is almost over and we can focus on next year or other things we enjoy. |

I notice in the Charlottetown-Halifax game on Saturday that Lucas Romeo picked up a match penalty for checking to the head. There is nothing posted yet but I expect we will be without his services for at least the first couple of games in the Quebec series.
It was mentioned earlier.... it seems the past three weeks or so (i.e. since we've really cratered) have bene laced with undisciplined play leading to suspensions by the players and the coaches.
For a nothing game on Saturday, there sure looks like there was lots of trouble.

Taking the most penalties in the league while also having the worst PK in the league
oh and just to add to it the worst PP as well

Nope.... Some of our good players and our good coach getting suspended.....sometimes multiple suspension in a short time frame....it's not good. Discipline will have to improve next season. Gooning up will not be a viable strategy next year when the new fighting penalties come in. its not a viable strategy now either |
