We got robbed in the Kidney deal, he was worth way more and everybody knew it. Just didn't work out for us and we needed to get more to improve in the future. I wonder where our 1st pick will be at the next draft? always hard to find an updated list.

I think Dwyer set prices sky high and waited too long to make deals, a lot of teams had already moved best assets. |

I wonder where our 1st pick will be at the next draft? always hard to find an updated list. rumor is we're getting a player from Gatineau a the draft, so hopefully that can make up for some of the lost value...but yeah the right move definitely would've been coming down on value a little bit early on but getting a better return then what we got. The way I see the deal is the potential long term gain could be huge but wasn't a great return for the short term... Arsenault should turn into a 30 goal scorer by next year so we could either keep him as an OA in 2024-2025 if we think we can compete or move him for a good package next Christmas as well. Orr should have a better season next year as well. He has the skating and offensive tools to be good, he just looks like he doesn't care much out there sometimes so hopefully he can bounce back... the 2025 1st could be a lottery pick as well and while that is a ways away now it could be useful in the future. If we do in fact get another player from Gatineau the trade might not be as terrible as it is right now but for 0.5 of a season for Kidney at least there's still potential to come out on top of this trade eventually...Hopefully anyways lol |
