note: this is mainly for fun and it's really hard to make predictions and 90% of the time none of these things happen. and to those who read all of it thank you for your time hahaha.
Titan are entering their "2nd" year of a rebuild while being one of the oldest teams in the league.
In my standings prediction I had the Titan finishing 8th overall. I believe they can achieve this if everything goes well. What's concerning about this standing position is if they get this high I hope they don't start buying rather than selling, especially where there's 11 guys who are 19. This team still needs some higher end younger talent, so moving 19's at Christmas and getting some 16/17 YO's or high picks would be ideal. But that begs the question, does the rebuild go even longer before this team competes? Likely so, this team is in a very weird spot being how old they are but not being contenders. It'll be interesting to see how things go.
My prediction is they still sell at Christmas regardless of how good they are.
Orr, Roelens, Cosman is a decent group of OA's, Roelens will be the one to watch as he could be a 60-70 point guy. I predict Roelens to go to a contender at Christmas, Potentially Orr too if he can bounce back, he had a solid pre-season so far.
Top young guy - Louis-Francois Belanger is a promising prospect, while a bit undersized he's very agile and knows where to be at the right times, he could end up being a steal for us and developing into a top player at 19. I predict he has a solid rookie season and puts up 32 points. He will be given solid amounts of ice time and surrounded by veterans could help him develop.
Top D - Ty Higgins will lead the way on the backend and putting up 57 points. He will be the powerplay quarterback and after putting up 41 points on an abysmal team last year, he could take that next step. I also predict Higgins to be named CAPTAIN, which would be quite the story coming in as a free agent to developing into a solid top 2 D for us.
leading goal scorer - Donovan Arseneault will lead the way in goals up front, from a bit of a sought-after prospect for Gatineau/Rouyn, to a solid top 6 guy for us. He had 14 goals in 30 games since coming over in the Kidney trade, and if he can develop how we all want him to then maybe that Kidney deal isn't all that bad after all (maybe)... But I predict him to score 33 goals this year which will be 12 more from last years total.
top goalie - Joshua Fleming will continue to improve on his strong season on a weak team last year, sporting a .903
SV percentage on the worst team in the league is pretty impressive. If this team can prevent more shots and chances, Fleming should be able to shine, and having Keller as his backup is pretty huge and he will be challenged for the nets. Going to buffalo's camp could also help his development and he could be a top goalie at 20 next season. My prediction is the Titan trade Fleming at Christmas, and while it seems Drummondville, Halifax, Rouyn, Victoriaville are locked in nets for their starter I can see a team like Moncton or Cape-Breton potentially making calls.
breakout candidate - This one is tough as I think a lot of the guys could take the next step, but I'm going to go with Blake Pilgrim-Edwards. One of the few players last year to finish the season with a positive +/- rating, plays the penalty kill, and had a strong pre-season so far including a hat trick. I think he will be given more ice time this year and he works hard. While he only had 16 points last season I think he could put up 35 this season, now some might not categorize this as a break out year but I think for him it's pretty good, then he could be a 45-55 point guy at 20. Honorable mention - Henneberry
alright that's my predictions for some of the guys. Let me know if any of you have any cool predictions.
