How Owen Conrad dropped to 20 baffles me, this kid has poise like he’s been in the league for years.

How Owen Conrad dropped to 20 baffles me, this kid has poise like he’s been in the league for years. Pretty sure he was playing NCAAA card to most teams. He was the steal of the draft, IMO. |

What a fun game! I really hope they keep that effort up all season. They'll do well if they do.
That Vidicek penalty was confusing. I've never seen them do it that way before giving a team basically a 3 minute power play.
What an opening weekend though. Hard fought 4 points.

Is there any video of what happened? Looked like a high-cross check, he definitely targeted the head/neck area. It was just after a dangerous hit on Levesque, so, I mean I can understand where Vidicek was coming from, it's his job as the veteran to stand up for the rookie, especially since said rookie is like 5'7". It was a dumb move late in the game. I wonder if part of this is fallout from the fighting rule, in any previous year he's dropping the gloves and grabbing his man, there's probably a few punches thrown and both guys go to the box. This isn't to make excuses, or to even disagree with the rule, it's more me thinking out loud. Vidicek certainly isn't a guy with a history of being a dirty player. |

With the size of Horth and Huckins and with the skill of Morneau in the middle, I feel that line, if stuck together, could do some real damage going forward.

If you have the ability to watch on CHL TV, you can see the hit at 2:17:40 of the game, happens right after that. Powers and Vidicek were having a lot of words in the face off circle right before it as well |

I like Powers game, to me Bowneas when back should be sent to Jr.A I think Power has more ability to be a factor more than Bowness

Yeah, I feel like the two injured players are the ones lowest on the depth chart once they’re back.
I haven’t seen Walker yet, but Hulton seems to be impressed with him..and he couldn’t earn a spot saturday night. Not a bad thing, always good to have competition for ice time.
I’ve only seen the one game so far, but I really like this team…if we can continue to get some goal scoring, I feel we could certainly surprise some teams.
This time last year, there wasn’t much of a light at the end of the tunnel…this year, I’m pretty excited for what we have in the future

Not the biggest kid on the ice, but he has speed, hard on the puck and has 1A in 2GP. For his first two QMJHL games, I have no complaints. I feel that Butler at 18,19,20.....will be a pretty valuable player. Hughes, Kearsey, Huckins are still looking for their 1st point......but Huckins has looked good, despite the no points. Him and Horth on the same line, two skilled, big bodies, it's nice to see. Overall, the team is much bigger then last season. Hinkley is a monster on the blueline. |
