The Islanders will host Moncton in their home opener tonight at the Eastlink Centre.
We had a great run against Halifax last weekend, of course aided by the missing pieces in their lineup. Moncton went up to Sydney and took the Eagles out behind the woodshed and did a number on them. So both the Islanders and Wildcats are 2-0 and will be looking to make it three straight wins.
Game time is 7:30!

Boys are playing ok but making some mistakes that’s costing them.. Moncton is a fast team to watch

Hinkley is just so damn strong out there...
One player that I have been disappointed in so far this early season is Simon Hughes.
Bickle made some big saves......but Moncton's goaltender, made more.
Would have liked to see Conrad playing and on the Isles PP.
Butler looked really, really good out there tonight for his 3rd QMJHL game.
His line with Maruna and Michaud sure are fun to watch. Three 17yr olds.
6-2 Wildcats win.
Isles outshot Moncton 38-33.
Next up, Les Titan!

I thought Hughes played well tonight. A couple big blocks and a couple chances. Much better than the first 2 games.

There were 5 players with more points second half than Hughes. He is not a top point producer

He’s not. He plays with his heart and I think he’s a great guy after chatting with him lots but hopefully he can find his stride this year and start producing. One thing I have seen from him is more discipline and he’s involved in more plays so that’s a plus (compared to last year)

It's hard for him to break into the top 6....with the top 6 they have now, he's just not there. Skill wise. I wouldn't be against giving him some PP time, i agree....but I think, personally, that you are overestimating his skill.

That small skill looked great against a halifax team with 1/2 a lineup and a weak goalie but it didn’t shine against 2 big strong teams this weekend. But yes the small skill looks great in camp and watered down preseason competition.

He'll figure it out
