Rouyn-Noranda is in town tonight for the opening night of a big road trip for them. They sit one point ahead of us in the overall standings and are second in the Western Conference.
Our big weekend last weekend has pushed one point behind second in the Eastern Conference. In the early stages of the season it is interesting to see how we are matched up against some of the perceived strong teams in the league.
Rouyn-Noranda is definitely a strong team. They come into town with experienced forwards, veteran blueliners and a Memorial Cup winning goalie.
Game time is 7:00 PM.

Some lineup updates in a release from the team.
Alexis Jacques is back up for tonight to give us a full complement of blueliners.
Simon Hughes is back in the lineup, which is great to see!
Rutledge will also be in the lineup tonight.
The goalie rotation continues with Ozols getting the nod tonight.
Those out of the lineup for tonight include: Michaud, Topilnyckyj, Boweness, Todd, Hinkley

Kind of made it sound like Rutledge may be here to stay?

Yes, it looked that way, I'll agree. They mention Jacques as a callup hoping to provide reinforcements on the blueline, and then later mention Rutledge as a player who's currently on a hot streak. Hopefully his strong play can continue. Kind of made it sound like Rutledge may be here to stay?

Excited for this one. I got to the home opener, and had to miss the rest thanks to still dealing with a concussion from the summer. Can't wait!

Rutledge not in the lineup. I guess the guy who writes the press releases is not the guy who decides in the lineup! Yes, it looked that way, I'll agree. If that second line can get going with Hughes Huckins and Romeo that would be a trio of big physical guys that can wear down opponents. Hughes will score his first tonight

Really wish they would move Maruna up to the top 6...
He has 8pts in 10 games as a 17yr old North American rookie...
Yes, I am a fan.
A 17yr old Euro coming to such a different culture and playing as well as he has...
A lot of Euros need an adjustment period...and the fact that Maruna is just 17yrs old and putting the points up as he has playing a 3rd line role is pretty impressive to me.
Imagine him two years from now as a 19yr old...

Good game. Goal post shoulda been the 2nd star. 1st goes to their goalie. Coulda went either way. Other than 1 goal, Oz had no chance.

We faced a potential Memorial Cup team and easily could've won about 10-3 if it wasn't for the post and Rousseau robbing us.
I always liked the Huskies, so I don't mind losing to them.
Question though, are the refs allowed to just review a minor penalty. I never saw that happen before.
