Taken from a Post by Jack Bauer:
But whats really going to hurt us is season ticket holders on a Thursday watching zero effort and knowing they probably save money if they bought the promotional tickets on a Thursday and dodged the rest of the weekend...so they're making the next marketing/promotions guys job even harder. Year over year this compounds. Imagine being the 7th marketing guy in a decade trying to win back fans who gave up years ago? All these broken systems make it pretty hard to win back fans.
My Initial Response :
Several of us were talking about this Last Night . As a long time Season Ticket Holder we fear that there "may" be more Cons than Pros in owning a Season Ticket . I would be interested in what other people are thinking . Tough Spot because I want Butts in the Seats but these 4 for $50 Fridays , 4 for $40 Sundays ,$13 Thursdays , $7 Student Saturdays are all good ideas and I wish them success with them but ............selfishly I can't help but think that having the same seat for the Regular Season and Playoffs is not as important as it used to be considering the seats 3 over from me are Empty every night ? Other then an invite to CBU to a BBQ and a couple of Pre Season Freebies ....has anything else been thrown our way to encourage the Buying of a Season Ticket ?

Hal how has that investment paid off for your playoff seats the last 15 seasons?
I see the logic in ahead of time wanting the same seat for all the big games.
But when there's literally 4-5 "big" games in a decade and all 2nd round games....vs the $12000+ investment you probably put in over that 15+ years...
You're paying for the assumption of the bare minimum of a normally run franchise and you're not getting anywhere even close to that. At the absolute minimum you long time ticket holders deserve that.
So with so many empty seats how are they not bending over backwards to give you free tickets for each homestand?
What loss is it in a rink with 3500 empty seats to print off 2 tickets for each season ticket holder for the upper bowl to try and use them to get some friends in the door?
3 games in 4 days. Give hal free Thursday tickets. Give hals buddy in the next row down Friday tickets. Mix up the ~2000 tickets so its more like 600 freebies each night. Maybe 600 people see Bathurst put it to us. Maybe 600 people see a decent game and 20 of them want to come back again. Maybe they all spend $10 and you have about $6000 in concession and even split revenue you never would have had otherwise.
In so many ways they're still doing it the same way they did in 1997. No wonder its not working.

Boys boys boys, when CB hosts the memorial cup that season ticket will be like peak bitcoin The new drinking game is to take a drink every time Irwin Simon says the words "memorial cup" at his "give me a microphone to tell these people how it is" sessions. Maybe if we're lucky his son will run the next one. CHL stands for Comedy Hockey League here in Cape Breton.

Maybe the Eagles could have a draw once in a while for Season Ticket holders ( a couple of times per year ) with a few prizes; #1 jersey of former or present Eagle player of your choice, #2 jersey of present Eagle player of your choice and #3 stick autographed by Eagles team. Other possible prizes could include vouchers for meals at some sponsors or vouchers for a vehicle inspection or a tire change somewhere. Perhaps even a $50 rebate from a Seasons Ticket purchase? How about a discounted stay at the Simon Hotel? None of these prizes would break the bank but would have value.
An early draw with such prizes that was promoted and advertised for a change might help encourage anyone on the fence to purchase while at the same time thanking the Season Ticket holders?
I'm sure other posters will have "pro or con" feelings about this idea or may have some better prize suggestions but I don't know if trying something to acknowledge the Season Ticket holders is a bad idea?

From the looks of things, how many season ticket holders will they keep. Seriously, how can a millionaire be so clueless and cleap at the same time. Hiring his son who don't even live here nor is from here to be a Vp. Trying to build a team through trades to get a good year at the box office rather than build properly... Irvwin Simon is the worst owner ever and is so arrogant its not even funny. Has anyone else notice empty box's?

As a Season Ticket Holder I think these are all great ideas , these may encourage some as you say on the Fence to purchase a Season Pass . They did do a Jersey Promotion amongst Season Ticket Holders a few years back but I think that was more of Promoting that Amazingly Creative Re Brand . I want to be clear on this , do something more for the STH's but at the same time find a promotion that works and drive it like you stole it , I / We want the place with a healthy crowd every game . You can't stop trying but I can't help but to think that it lies with cheap and some free tickets for Kids in the Elementary Schools ( somebody has to take them ) and gear it towards the Upper Bowl . I know this is not the Best Idea for Tues , Wed and Thursday Games but sounds good for Fri , Sat and Sundays . Another issue that jumps out at me and I don't own a Marketing Degree but I will ask you guys .........Does this Organization do enough Promoting ? This has been asked a Thousand Times here before ......But Do They ? ........ I don't believe they do but I look forward to some folks telling me I am wrong on this .

The Rocket/Islanders used to have a VIP card for season ticket holders that gave you discounts at a lot of restaurants and the team store, as well as our local Source for Sports. It was great, especially in my college years when I'd go out a lot with classmates to eat lunch or dinner. I saved a lot of money over those years from that card. I wish they'd bring that back. It was a great promo and added incentive to buy the season tickets.
