I have to agree I don’t think the 2006 group is strong enough and you don’t have much to work with for trades. That being said Hulton seems to find away to make the best of what he has.

So, you don't think the following players will improve over the next two years? They are some of the best players on the team right now! Marcus Kearsey Matt Butler Ross Campbell Ondrej Maruna Alexis Michaud Simonn Duguay Niko Boudreau They are 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th and 8th in team scoring as of today. Maruna is 8th with 9pts in 17gp.....always need patience with Euro players....he WILL be a top contributor in 2 years....probably next season to be honest.

I am curious what will happen with Todd coming back (seems like it could be sooner than later) and whatever is going on with Hughes.
Who loses a spot to Todd? Or do they move him? Is hughes even returning? Unsure what his injury status is. Then there is Bowness as well, again though, unsure of his injury status.
I have never been good with understanding trades/trade values/draft values/etc so maybe all of these questions aren't even relevant, if so just ignore me lol

2 of the 3 have zero trade value
the 3rd has killed his own trade value with his attitude and play

I was told tonight 4 teams have inquired about Horth, one with apparently a pretty significant offer.
If we have to lose him, I hope it's too a contender with some good pieces coming back

Horth, Morneau, Huckins would help any team. The line of Huckins Power Hughes is dominant on the puck and any contending team will need that type of line to win so a contender might trade for the whole line.

I'm interested to see how deep Hulton wants to tear down into a rebuild. Would/could Kearsay be in play if CB dangles SJ's first rounder? Not 1 for 1 of course but if there's multiple picks/prospects (ie: Will Murphy) to be had out of CBs roster/farm does a package with him and Horth gain any traction?

Owen Conrad. 16yrs old. Anthony Flanagan. 16yrs old. Simon Duguay. 17yrs old. Marcus Kearsey. 17yrs old. Matthew Butler. 17yrs old. Alexis Michaud. 17yrs old. Ondrej Maruna. 17yrs old. Ross Campbell. 17yrs old.....who already is showing good leadership on this team. Lucas Romeo. 18yrs old. Kyle Powers. 18yrs old. Aksels Ozols. 18yr old

My comment was admittedly pie in the sky spitballing however, CB does have highly touted players in that age range that could possibly be added to that group which could make it even more impressive. Shields, Waugh, Murphy, Desjardins all come to mind. Perhaps we are one of the teams in the running for Horth?

The issue with building via trade is that teams are probably not giving up their Kearsay's for picks. They'll move someone who they got cheaper who has shown some progress but not anyone they think is a long term part of the solution who may eventually be a part of a winner. Burbridge wasn't going to win anything in SJ being drafted in 2021 as a part of a long term rebuild. It made sense that he would be available for a team dangling high picks. Same with us when we moved Trenholm until the next regime started buying while Trenholm was still in the league but you won't see Charlottetown start panic buying this year because ticket sales arent where they want them to be. Hulton will follow the proper patient and steady plan and end up in a better spot then we are simply by doing exactly what his team on the ice dictates he does.

He's too small/young to really be a big part of what they are building, and while they have assets to buy him, they would be better served buying older players. Horth to CB makes a lot of sense to me. That being said, he's one of the top OA out there.

Kersey is the top scoring Dman in the Maritime Division....at 17yrs old.
He's the youngest pt leader dman in the league.
Not to shabby imo.
Not a chance he gets moved....lol
