Why do we have the worst game day experience ever? I can’t be the only one who absolutely hates the lack of energy around the rink. The intermission are god awful. Yes the local talent on the stage are good… but is it really a hockey experience? Why is there no league up dates, no league talk, no highlights. No recaps of anything. We get the forever healthy player of the period interview and that’s it!!! I dread intermissions. Also with the new score board, why are we not using that more to its capability. Come up with more fan engagement. You see lots of videos online of other teams utilizing their score board and the ideas are great…. I guess no matter how it looks or what’s new. It will always live up to be the Morgue!!!

What ideas are you suggesting? I’ve definitely noticed period highlights and the board adds to the experience 100x more than when they didn’t have it.
Island hockey fans are just quiet in general…you go most other rinks and they have their crazy super fans, fans actually cheering. PEI fans mainly just sit on their hands and watch the hockey

I think it’s 10 times better than last year in terms of the score board interactivity.
The promotions are really lacking. Like, I think that this Saturday is Hockey fights Cancer (purple jersey) and I’ve literally heard nothing of this from our team socials. I come here for updates lol. But according to the Q blog post it’s our night.
Orange shirt day this year - nothing.
So that part compared to last year is way off. But I think maybe some Job positions changed. I’m not sure if it was the store that helped organize that. And I think the staff changed in there.
Also last year every Sunday the players signed autographs. We loved that. This year? Nothing.
🤷🏼♀️

In terms of the rinks I've been to, the Isles fans are definitely the least enthusiastic. Going to the other rinks really shows the difference.
The scoreboard has helped and they heavily rely on the kids wanting to scream and dance. I've been sitting in my area for 4 or 5 seasons now and its rare they even clap let alone anything else, even during the big playoff run.
Not sure how to get people going, it seems PEI is just like that and it's unfortunate. I'm sure the players would love a lively crowd.

(Being nosey now) We were in 19…but we moved because we got tired of having to get up every 14 seconds for people trying to access the other side of the arena rather than walk all the way around lol We are now in 5. It’s more lively there but not by much. But I doubt we’ll stay there for next season because it’s not a very “kid friendly” section so close to the bar….by 2nd period the language is a bit much haha But yeah. It kind of sucks when the crowd is deadsville. I guess I’m still kind of new so it’s a little shocking. We came in during the playoff run 2 years ago and then decided to get season tickets and the attendance does surprise me. Same with the U17. Those games were embarrassing. Some of them were basically empty.

I’m sure we are the only arena in all of Canada that has someone playing live music during an intermission?? There could be between period coaches interview. Could do opposing team interviews. There’s lots to do… you don’t go to many other arenas in the league and get to bored during intermission.

I would be curious how coaches interviews during intermission would add much of anything to a game experience. There is nothing more boring than sports interviews let alone interviews at the junior level where the interviewer has usually no training. I don't suspect this would add much atmosphere. I find the live music in Moncton on the weekends adds to the atmosphere, but I also walk around during intermissions.
