Personally I like Corey's style always have George has a great voice but some of his commentary is pretty cringe to me...... but hey i'm thankful for them both and having the ability to listen into games when i'm on the road traveling and yes great for the team to get back in the win column especially given that they were so shorthanded up front with injuries guessing Simon Hughes is staking a claim to an overage spot for next year with his play as of late..... I agree with you (minus the “George is cringe” because I don’t get that …) When I first started tuning in last year, one of the first statements I heard Corey say was “buy a lottery ticket folks, the Islanders scored”. I was kind of taken aback by the barrage of negativity but I do find that he’s improved this year. Also, over time, I can clearly hear he is very knowledgeable about the league. So he’s grown on me. I only watch away games on the tv (since we are mostly at all the home games) but I will say in their defence, it’s really hard to call play by play when you’re reliant on the camera and not at the game. So they do their best but sometimes it must be challenging. 🤷🏼♀️ Take the good with the bad I guess. No one is perfect. Think they are doing a pretty good job.

Great game by the Islanders. Cory Arsenault has to be the most unbearable announcer ever. Just stick to the play by play. I don't need to hear the consistent negativity of the play on ice for a team that is young and rebuilding. Corey doesn't normally do play-by-play anymore, unless there is no one else to do it. I didn't listen to them last night so I don't know if that was the case or not. Corey does the commentary. As much of a homer as he might be, he'll call a spade a spade and I find him to be very knowledgeable when it comes to the league.

It's hilarious though how unfiltered he can be, but he rarely is wrong with his takes. Plus I find him and George put great effort into getting the players' names right across the league, which alone is way more than a lot of play-by-play guys can say. Cory/George, (I can't believe the name is slipping my mind) but the guy who used to work for the Sea Dogs and I think Moncton, and Kenzie Lalonde were my favourites among the Q. Amazing to see Kenzie make her way from constantly interrupted on Eastlink to high profile IIHF tournaments for TSN. John Moore with the Mooseheads was my least favourite of the English commentators, always gets the names of opposing players wrong which just always came across as unprofessional to me. As for the game, great to see them get a win against a team that's given them trouble this year. Hopefully they start turning things around, they might as well try to finish as high as they can. Every team has given the Islanders trouble this year.... The Isles are 4-2-0-0 against the Sea Dogs 3-1-1-1 against Halifax 3-2-0-0 against Moncton 2-2-0-0 against Cape Breton 1-4-0-0 against Bathurst
You can still win but struggle against a team. Sea Dogs give us a good fight every game this year.

You can still win but struggle against a team. Sea Dogs give us a good fight every game this year.I won't argue semantics. What you see as struggling, I see as 2 teams in the same phase of their rebuild. They should be close games. Goals for and against in games vs Saint John? 20-20; 4 1 goal games (2 that went to shootout). To me, that's not struggling....that's just 2 evenly matched teams. The Titan, also at the same stage of their rebuild as both the Isles and the Sea Dogs, are the team the Isles really struggle against. They have outscored the Isles 24-12, including 7-1 and 7-3 beat-downs. The Sea Dogs are 4-3 against the Titan this year. There are 6 points that separate the contenders from 2 years ago
SHE - 42 pts BAT - 40 pts CHA - 39 pts SHA - 37 pts SNB - 36 pts Only 8 points if you include Quebec

Pretty sure his business is a part owner of the team....but I could be wrong
