We head over to SJ tonight for a mid-week matchup.
The Islanders have lost their last 5 games and desperately need some combination of a better effort, better luck, better play.
Game time is 7:00.

Not getting my hopes up for this one, we've been terrible against Saint John this year and I doubt tonight will be much different. At least this way if they win I can be pleasantly surprised haha

Michael Horth will not dress due to a lower-body injury.
Ondrej Maruna will also miss tonight’s game due to illness.
Cole Huckins is also doubtful to dress due to an upper-body injury.

Hopefully Horth is ok, always scary when someone gets hit into an open door on the bench.
I believe the same thing had happened to Patty Leblanc who in turn had some internal issues and might’ve been out for the rest of the year? I can’t remember exactly when it had happened

For some reason they’re 100 times better on the road than they are at home..

This was needed but as mentioned above, they cannot seem to do this when on home ice

Great game by the Islanders. Cory Arsenault has to be the most unbearable announcer ever. Just stick to the play by play. I don't need to hear the consistent negativity of the play on ice for a team that is young and rebuilding.

Corey is one of the best announcers in the game He's very fair and honest.
Back to the game, nice to get win and to see Shields pick up 3pts!

Would you rather him be a homer and hype up the team even though they’ve been losing every game? He’s a scout with the team as well as radio broadcaster…he obviously just cares about the team. That’s great to see

I don't need to hear the consistent negativity of the play on ice for a team that is young and rebuilding. It's hilarious though how unfiltered he can be, but he rarely is wrong with his takes. Plus I find him and George put great effort into getting the players' names right across the league, which alone is way more than a lot of play-by-play guys can say. Cory/George, (I can't believe the name is slipping my mind) but the guy who used to work for the Sea Dogs and I think Moncton, and Kenzie Lalonde were my favourites among the Q. Amazing to see Kenzie make her way from constantly interrupted on Eastlink to high profile IIHF tournaments for TSN. John Moore with the Mooseheads was my least favourite of the English commentators, always gets the names of opposing players wrong which just always came across as unprofessional to me. As for the game, great to see them get a win against a team that's given them trouble this year. Hopefully they start turning things around, they might as well try to finish as high as they can.

But he is a homer, which is fine but constantly negative. Rarely has anything positive to say, hence not very supportive to the listeners of the team. George Mathews is fantastic, and arguably the best in the league, no question. You don't see him being negative towards the kids. He just does his job like a professional. I think it's great that they both get the name of the kids right though (for away teams too). Great game by the Islanders. Cory Arsenault has to be the most unbearable announcer ever. Every team has given the Islanders trouble this year.... The Isles are
4-2-0-0 against the Sea Dogs 3-1-1-1 against Halifax 3-2-0-0 against Moncton 2-2-0-0 against Cape Breton 1-4-0-0 against Bathurst

I agree, he is not wrong with his takes, The mistakes that occur on the ice are very noticeable. He just sometime sounds like a prick and unprofessional. Every now and then I get a good chuckle from his comments during a replay LOL. Just like Jack Edward's. Great game by the Islanders. Cory Arsenault has to be the most unbearable announcer ever. Just stick to the play by play. I don't need to hear the consistent negativity of the play on ice for a team that is young and rebuilding. Personally I like Corey's style always have
George has a great voice but some of his commentary is pretty cringe to me...... but hey i'm thankful for them both and having the ability to listen into games when i'm on the road traveling
and yes great for the team to get back in the win column especially given that they were so shorthanded up front with injuries
guessing Simon Hughes is staking a claim to an overage spot for next year with his play as of late.....
