Very interesting note that the team got Ron MacLean to send a video to Butler, wearing his jersey to try and recruit him to the Island. I knew they were recruiting him hard, but different things like that are pretty cool.

He’s been great all year, especially lately, and he’s gonna be a stud for years to come. Glad he’s an Islander!

He's such a talented player.

His vision to make the perfect pass is amazing to see from a 17yr old rookie.

As you said, definitely glad that he's an Islander. He has a bright future in this league!

Yes he’s the most exciting player by far! Every shift he plays, you notice him.

Was Butler expected to be as good as he's been with the Islanders? He has been very fun to watch and seems to have a lot of good natural instincts on the ice.

It’s hard to really put expectations on him, but he certainly fell in the draft due to leaning towards the NCAA route. But I think if you look at the overall picture of players in the draft, I’m assuming he’s gotta be in the top 10-15 for sure
