Bickle is a guy I've been luke warm on for most of the year.....but he's heating up and really has been playing well. He's showing well in an audition for a 20 y/o slot for next year.
And it's great to see another guy I've been so so on...Ondrej Maruna.... starting to show a little offense. Maruna had 4 points in 4 games in September, followed by 5 points in 10 games in October. November was tough with 3 points in 12 games. Then he hit a wall with 0 points in December and 0 points in January. Through it all there was a an absence with the World Junior A challenge, plus being out of the lineup with a virus, plus some time as a healthy scratch.
He's had two points in the last two games and hopefully can build on that. The 4th line of Maruna-Swan-Allen have scored in each of the past two games and we were winners both times. It sure is great to get some production from that part of the lineup. Hopefully they can keep it up!

In the end it didn't matter because it was called back, but that was a smart move by Michaud on the empty netter to see Campbell wide open and not just shoot it into the defenseman. Very smart and showed a lot of maturity to seal the game rather than try to score the tougher goal himself.
Also, I wish they would just tell you what they're reviewing. Very annoying when every goal they review and you have no idea what they're looking for. Yet they'll tell you when it's so obvious.
And the new replay screen, use it! They have gotten so bad at not showing replays.

Still questions about his time here on PEI though, one good weekend doesn't just erase a disappointing season, but it's a start. As for replays, I mean in general, not just when they're reviewing plays, but for the sake of transparency the announcements should be something like "The play is under review for offsides". Transparency in a sports league is never a bad thing. |

Yes, the next month will be an important time to evaluate Maruna and see what we had.
Earlier, I was wishing they would use him as a C as was the plan when he was drafted.... I felt his struggles started with having to play as a winger. But he just was not effective enough to be using in the middle.
Now that line with Allen and Swan is looking good so run them for a while and see how it goes.... and maybe he can get his game on track just in time.
